Beauty subscription box brand Birchbox has a fantastic points system which enables subscribers and customers to earn points and redeem them in their eShop. With points earnt by referring friends, purchasing items in their shop, buying a subscription and completing product surveys your total can soon mount up. The only negative I can think of is points have to be redeemed in multiples of £10 so when you’ve only got £25 or an odd number it can seem like an age before it rounds up!
With 300 points (the equivalent of £30) burning a hole in my virtual pocket I headed over to the Birchbox shop. I was like a kid in a sweetshop; so many lovely products that it made choosing what to buy quite difficult and despite having a good idea what I wanted I kept changing my mind!
I knew I wanted to try more of the Yes To… range as I already had a moisturiser and shampoo of theirs and with their products being around 99% natural and paraben-, petroleum-, and SLS-free it’s really a direction I’m trying to move in when I comes to the skin care choices I make. With that in mind I decided to get the Yes To Tomatoes cleanser and the Yes To Carrots body lotion and shower gel.
Next up was the Tommy Guns shampoo and conditioner that I’d already enjoyed in a previous box. It’s not a brand that’s stocked in a lot of shops (I think it can be found at John Lewis) so it’s quite exclusive yet at £5.50 for 250ml is still reasonably priced. I added those to my cart and checked out.
With free postage (for a £30+ spend or with selected brands) and points it meant my shopping spree only cost me £6!
The generous points system definitely is a bonus and makes Birchbox probably the best beauty box to subscribe to. If you fancy treating yourself to a subscription (they cost £10 + £2.95 p&p per month) then sign up using my referral link and we both get 50pts, worth £5, to get you started!
