The Eyes Have It

One of my staples would have to be my mascara. Even on my incredibly rare “no – makeup” days I’m never without a slick of mascara to open up my eyes.

I also wear eyeliner almost every day too – as a daytime look usually just above my upper lash-line with a tiny flick at the corners.

My current favourites are ModelCo’s Fibre Lashxtend and Eye Pencil which I bought together in their Eyes Must Haves kit. They certainly are a must have in my makeup bag!

Fibre Lashxtend contains actual lash fibres to help build up your own lashes; according to the packaging lengthening and amplifying them. And they do. With one coat there is already a noticeable difference, although I usually use two coats to really get that va va voom! I do find that to remove the mascara sufficiently requires a separate eye makeup remover, but that’s not a problem.

The Eye Pencil is a lovely, soft and highly pigmented black. It transfers well to the lid without dragging the skin and I don’t need to go over it once applied. The sharpener in the lid is a great touch, if like me you’re always losing your sharpener in the bottom of your makeup bag.

And this is the end result:

So there you go. The Australian company ModelCo has done good again! You can buy the Mascara for £16 and Eye Pencil for £9 here. Shipping is a reasonable £5 to the UK (or free over a certain spend) and despite coming from Australia my order arrived very quickly with no extra customs charges. It also came packaged in the lovely pink bag you see pictured, which was a nice touch!

I think more brands should do it, it’s just a small thing but makes it so much easier. I haven’t got an excuse to use a blunt eye pencil anymore!
