A Spa Experience – Dead Sea Spa Magik

Many years ago when the new Bull Ring shopping centre opened in Birmingham a Finders spa launched in the new Debenhams store. It was my first encounter of the Dead Sea Spa Magik brand and as a poor student back then the reasonably priced products were just within my budget (if I drank slightly less beer)! I remember I particularly loved the Salt Brushing as it really made my skin glow and was highly moisturising. It was also a great boost after a night out when it’s fair to say I would never be feeling up to much.

But that was over ten years ago and a lot of other Spa At Home contenders have entered the market since. Does Dead Sea Spa Magik still win me over? Finders Spa kindly sent me a Top To Toe Kit* to try out and review.

Dead Sea Spa Magik products have been sold in professional Spas and Salons worldwide since 1981 as ‘home spa treatments’ to alleviate even the most troublesome of skin conditions and give you a taste of pure spa relaxation.

The Top to Toe Kit contains a selection of products that really showcase what a diverse range Dead Sea Spa Magik offer and it includes a body wash and body lotion, a cleansing bar and bath salts, handcream and eye cream, and finally sample sachets of their mineral shampoo and hair serum. It comes packaged in a really good quality gift bag.

The Refreshing Bath & Shower Gel leaves your skin feeling very clean but not stripped of its natural oils. The aroma, which has a slight saltiness from the minerals, is fresh, soothing and not unpleasant.

The Silky Smooth Body Lotion feels very hydrating but non-greasy, it has the same scent as the shower gel. They are decent sizes at 350ml.

The Dead Sea Bath Salts can be used a few different ways; for general use you can simply use a handful, but for a more intense treatment you can use the whole packet! You can also use them just as a foot soak which I imagine would be lovely at the end of a long day. They soothe achey muscles and hydrate the skin. The kit contains 500g.

The Cleansing Bar (100g) is soap free and deeply cleanses whilst restoring the PH Balance. It is gentle enough to use on the face as well as the body.

Next up is the Super Hand Cream 75ml and i’m sure most people would agree whilst they want intense hydration no one wants a hand cream that leaves everything you touch coated in grease. This just hits the mark perfectly, being moisturising but without stickiness.

We also have Age Response Eye Cream 15ml to reduce fine lines and deminish dark circles. Its lightweight, hydrating texture sinks in and does genuinely seem to brighten the eye area.

I’m yet to try the hair products but they are a nice addition to the kit as it gives you the chance to try the full spectrum of products. Retailing at £35 the kit is great value as if you were to buy them seperately the products would come to just over £50.

For the growing number of people who are concious about what products contain Dead Sea Spa Magik formulas are paraben-free, use allergen-free fragrance, have a Harmonised Water base, and have added a Certified Organic Blend of Matricaria Flower Extract, Linden Blossom Flower Extract, Lemon Balm Leaf Extract and Rooibos Leaf Extract. They are not tested on animals.

I love the idea of turning your bathroom into a spa and Dead Sea Spa Magik really make that possible without breaking the bank or compromising on quality.

Do you sometimes try to recreate a spa experience at home? What products help you to achieve it?
