I thought I’d end the week by giving you a run down of all the things I’ve been up to over the last few days;
On Monday I received my cheeky little order from Makeup Revolution – which included two of the palettes and a bronzer from their I ♡ Makeup range. As expected they didn’t disappoint. My husband was off work but the weather wasn’t playing ball so we didn’t do much.
I dropped my daughter off at nursery on Tuesday and came home to the usual housework. I also got around to finishing the post I’d been writing on the Weleda Sea Buckthorn range. Weleda is one of my favourite all-natural brands. It was then time for my dance class where I was learning a routine we were to perform at the Children’s Centre carnival the following day.
Wednesday was Carnival day! I had painted my nails the night before using Ciate’s Corrupted Neon Manicure kit to match my carnival costume (a neon tutu pictured below) and I wrote a quick Nails of The Day post. The performance was that afternoon. The dance went well, even though we all have two left feet, and the carnival was lots of fun!
I had a day off blogging on Thursday as an old friend was coming up from London to visit us and I hadn’t got any pre-prepared posts. It’s been 7 years since we last saw each other so we had a lot of catching up to do. I try and prepare my posts in advance so that I can post daily but I’m slowly learning to be slightly less controlling and realise the world won’t come crashing down if I miss a day!
On Friday I wrote a post on some Body Shop hand creams that I really like using at the moment. My friend was still here and we took my daughter to the fun fair who, at £2 a ride, fleeced my husband! My Birchbox was in transit too so I was constantly checking the online tracking for updates. It was our 5 year wedding anniversary too so that evening we had a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
At last we get to Saturday and the arrival of my long awaited July Birchbox. I was really happy with the contents; once again they had come up with the goods and produced a great box. The weather was lovely too so we just relaxed in the garden.
Today (Sunday) we visited my in-laws for dinner then went to the Trafford Centre as my daughter had a voucher to spend in Hamleys toy shop. Personally I think Hamleys is quite overpriced and doesn’t offer the best of shopping experiences (annoyingly loud music, badly laid out, stock everywhere); in fact I imagine Hell would be a lot like a Hamleys toy shop! I usually love shopping but with a toddler in tow it’s a different story and we didn’t stay long. My wallet breathed a huge sigh of relief as we didn’t even pay a visit to Debenhams or Selfridges beauty hall – I on the other hand was gutted. To end on a positive note though I got two Essie nail polishes for £1 in the Boots clearance!
What have you been up to this week?
