Once again Latest In Beauty have joined forces with founder of Hip & Healthy magazine, Sadie Macleod, to bring their customers an exclusive box of treats to get you looking and feeling your best this summer.
Although this is the second Hip & Healthy box, it is the first that I’ve purchased as I felt this one it had more of a beauty focus than the previous box. The Hip & Healthy Summer Glow Box is very aptly named as it contains things to help you glow on the outside as well as from within.
As I expected from Latest In Beauty this box was jam packed and there wasn’t even room for the usual shredded paper. The tissue paper was sealed with a sticker telling me to “be the best version of you” which was a nice touch. But what was beneath the baby pink tissue paper?
Well as you can see from the photo the beauty content of this box is really comprehensive and includes the following;
James Read Sleep Mask Tan (25ml) – This is a self tan that develops overnight and is packed full of ingredients designed to condition and care for your skin. At half the full size it is a very generously proportioned sample and should last quite a while.
Nourish Golden Glow Toning Body Shimmer (2ml) – This is a very small sample which sadly won’t go far or really give much of an idea of whether the full size would be worth purchasing but I’m sure the shimmer will be nice across my décolletage and having tried one of their creams before I know Nourish is a lovely brand.
Melvita Rose Extraordinary Water (25ml) – I like natural products and Melvita is a very reliable brand that I’ve tried before. The rosewater however is new to me. It will be fabulously refreshing on hot summer days and it smells gorgeous.
Green People, Sun Lotion SPF 15 with Tan Accelerator (20ml) – I’ve tried Green People makeup but not their skincare, despite appearing quite regularly in beauty boxes. It’s definitely a range I’ve been meaning to explore so this is very welcome. It is free from all the usual nasties such as SLS, parabens, chemical sunscreens, and as expected is cruelty free and vegan approved.
Moa The Green Balm (15ml) – I have (and love) the full sized version of this 100% natural, versatile balm, so I will slip this travel one in my handbag.
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm (4.25g) – As much as I love Burt’s Bees original lip balm I have loads in my stash so I’ll pass this onto my husband as it’s a very unisex product. It was only a few months ago that this is lip balm appeared in the Glamour Beauty Edit box so it’s a shame they didn’t include one of the many other flavours from the range.
Nailberry Nail Polish (15ml) – Nailberry is a 4-free nail lacquer meaning it contains no formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or synthetic camphor. It is also cruelty free. This colour is a bright coral shade named Groseille, which in the bottle looks very similar to the Cheeky nail polish I got a few months back and really liked. It will look great with my tan.
Moving on from the outside we have some things to care for us from within;
Archeia Minerals for Hair Skin and Nails (7.5 days supply) – My nails haven’t been in the best condition recently (so much so that I’ve stopped wearing polish until the condition improves) and a decent mineral supplement may be just the boost they need.
Inner Me Daily 4 Me The Hectic Years 30+ (4 week supply) – With a toddler The Hectic Years definitely describes my life. Hopefully as these supplements are specifically formulated for 30-somethings this will give me some of my Mojo back! This is a very comprehensive regime consisting of a multi-vitamin & mineral tablet, an Omega 3 capsule, a Lactospore probiotic, and Co Enzyme Q10 capsule.
This time around the box contains fewer foodie extras, but what items it does contain are very nice. These are:
Dragonfly Tea (2x sachets) – I’m a big tea drinker but have a tendancy to stick with what I know so these samples will make a nice change!
Ohso Good for you Chocolate (2x bars) – Ohso Chocolate is rich in probiotics giving this indulgent treat a healthy twist. Dark Chocolate is also high in anti-oxidents and at 63 calories per bar you can enjoy a little nibble without feeling too guilty! My bars melted slightly in transit so I put them in the fridge to reset – they still taste lovely, even if they didn’t perhaps look quite as appetising as when they started out! An interesting concept: Ohso will deliver a weekly pack of seven bars for £3.99!
The box also contains a Salt Resort Wear £20 Voucher – This is a retailer that sells mainly beach wear but some accessories. The £20 voucher can be redeemed online or in their London store. Their stock looks lovely but pricy so i’m not sure I’ll be making a purchase unless something really stands out!
For £16.95 you’re getting over £100 worth of product, making the box great value. I can’t wait to try all the products out! Have you tried a Hip & Healthy box?
