Well it is the end of another month already which means time for an empties post. As always there are products that impressed and some that didn’t. Read on to find out more!
Weleda Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream 50ml and Body Lotion 250ml
Weleda appears regularly in my use-ups as they do some lovely natural skin and bodycare ranges. This lotion and hand cream from the Sea Buckthorn range has a lovely citrus smell, which reminds me of lemon sherbert, and they are great for use during the day as the formulas sink right in and don’t leave your skin feeling greasy. Effective and 100% natural these are a definite repurchase!
Weleda Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash 200ml
Onto another Weleda use-up and this time from their Wild Rose range. Rose is a scent I love – it’s so fresh and uplifting – so as you may predict this was a winner. Its 100% natural formula means it is free from nasties like SLS and Parabens, which is good news. If I hadn’t already got so many shower gels to use this would be a definite repurchase.
Aubrey Toasted Almond Creme de la Shave 118ml
I bought this as I wanted a 100% natural shave cream and I love the scent of almond. It does what it says on the tin and is very moisturising, however I think it clogged up my razor and didn’t give my legs the closest of shaves so I doubt I’ll repurchase.
Tommyguns Pomegranate & Orange Flower shampoo and conditioner 250ml
These were bought through Birchbox and liked them but I don’t feel they’re quite moisturising enough for my hair which has felt quite coarse recently. I’ve started using the Garnier Ultimate Blends, which seems to be much more suited to my hair (watch out for a review next month).
Mini Naked My First Butter 150ml
The next use-up is one of my daughter’s and it’s a body butter from Naked Bodycare. I got this for her as it’s 97% natural and consequently much less harsh on her sensitive skin. It is a nice product from a range with great ethics and would be one I’d buy again.
Last but not least we have the following minis and samples I used up:
Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser 50ml
This cleanser is a stalwart in the Clinique range and i’m sure has been around as long as I’ve been using Clinique. It has a mousse-like consistency when lathered which feels lovely and lifts make-up and grime effectively. I’ve used this on and off for years so no doubt I will replace it eventually but for now I have quite a number of different cleansers in my stash to make use of!
Lancome Bi-Facial makeup remover 30ml
I always use a seperate eye makeup remover as my mascara can be so stubborn to shift without one. As I’d used up my Clinique one I’d thought I’d try this mini one from a Lancome gift with purchase. I’ve never used many Lancome products but this did a fairly good job and was really gentle so I the next time I pass a counter I may have a look at what else they offer.
REN BB Cream 3ml
I got the REN BB Cream free in a beauty box and whilst it has a nice formula, that feels soothing on the skin, it is far too sheer for me. I think I expected more from REN so this was a bit disappointing.
Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream 3ml
This was an extra in June’s You Beauty Discovery box and I was really impressed by it. The thick balm melts as it warms on the skin and a little goes a long way (I managed to do both legs and arms with only this sachet). The moisture lingered even after I’d bathed that evening.
Are there any products in there that you’ve used? What products have you been impressed with this month and which were complete let-downs? I’d love to hear!
