You Beauty Discovery – August Review

They say a watched pot never boils and it would appear it’s exactly the case when awaiting a parcel. You can wait in all day for a delivery and it invariably comes when you’ve just nipped out for a pint of milk! I’m sure my postman lurks around the corner waiting for me to leave the house and then tries to deliver my parcel. And so it went today – I popped into town and arrived back to find my You Beauty Discovery box waiting for me!

As I expected there was a fantastic and varied line-up of products to choose from when the selection became available on the 1st August and You Beauty Discovery proved once again that at £6.95 theirs is probably the best value beauty box out there. There were a number of products that stood out for me, so picking just two products was tough, but in the end I picked one product that was sensible and one indulgent treat!

Eucerin Sun Fluid Mattifying SPF30 (50ml) – I’ve heard a lot of good reports on Eucerin skincare and having oily skin I thought this sounded perfect. I high SPF is essential to protect the skin and prevent premature aging, but often sun cream can be greasy and heavy. This product from Eucerin however promises to be light and mattify the skin. This was my sensible choice as I know it will be handy to carry in my handbag for when the weather catches me out and the sun comes out to play!

Gazelli Triple Youth with White Oil Duo (5ml each) – A little while back You Beauty Discovery featured the Gazelli facial, which uses these products, on their website and I hoped they would eventually find their way into one of our boxes. Consequently when I saw them in the line up I knew I had to try them. The Gazelli Duo was limited stock from the outset so I think You Beauty Discovery only had a very limited number, and i’m really happy I’ll be one of the lucky people this month who gets to try this premium skincare.

At £75 for the 30ml serum and £70 for the 50ml cream I know repurchasing this will most likely be out of my budget so sampling this is my little luxury!

Last but not least, as all subscribers did, I received a his and hers Jimmy Choo fragrance sample, a 2ml sachet of FaceD 3-LURONICS Instant Effect Cream Serum and a 4-Way Nail Buffer.

Other products featured this month are:
Daniel Sandler Long Lasting, Waterproof Eyeliner in Aqua (0.25g), Eucerin Sun Fluid Mattifying SPF50 (50ml), Louise Galvin Sacred Locks Treatment Masque (100ml), Marsk Rich List, Mineral Eyeshadow (1.2g), Peggy Sage Nail Polish – Nude Collection or Summer Collection (11ml), Rose & Co. Cherry Kiss Lush and Lovely Lip Balm (10g), and JustBe Botanicals Hydrating Serum (10ml)

I approach the You Beauty Discovery selection with a sense of foreboding recently. With the website crashing, early sell-outs, and my July box being lost, it can be quite frustrating and indeed when I logged onto their site this month to make my selection it took 40 minutes of refreshing to successfully place my order! Fortunately the fantastic value and the excitement when the box arrives mean that I keep coming back for more. Thanks to You Beauty Discovery I’ve been able to try products that would otherwise be too expensive and discover unique brands that aren’t readily available on the high street.

I think the fact that you get to select your items means there’s something for everyone. Only negative is some things sell out fast so I’d recommend you get in fast! X

I picked the Eucerin sun cream as a sensible choice as well:) The Gazelli duo was sold out when I placed my order about midday on the 1st so I chose the JustBe serum. I can’t wait to get my box. In my opinion is the best beauty box out there, always great choice of products and the value can’t be beaten! xx

Really interesting! I’ve been considering these beauty boxes for ages and this is the first one that seems to come in at a reasonable price!

Definitely and because you pick you can tailor it to your needs so hopefully won’t end up with lots of samples you’ll never use. Plus there are always some full sized products in the line-up!

That is the major downside – although I don’t know what the solution to it would be as I’m guessing some brands will only supply a certain number and certains items prove particularly popular. X
