My First Memebox Experience

Although on the whole I love my UK beauty boxes I do sometimes feel the brands and products get a little bit same-y and consequently the boxes can feel a bit repetitive. So always on the look-out for something a bit different, when I discovered Memebox, Korea’s number 1 beauty box that ships internationally, I knew it was a concept I needed to check out!

Memebox carries 4 main types of beauty boxes – Memebox, Memebox Special Editions, Superbox and Luckybox – which are usually curated to a specific skin care compaint, theme, ingredient, beauty trend etc, and are made in limited numbers. In addition to their boxes, there is also a Memeshop carrying full-size, Korean beauty products. Unlike most UK boxes Memebox doesnt offer a subscription service so there is no commitment, you just choose to buy a box (or boxes) that interest you.

The box I received, and which i’m very excited to bring to you today, is the Memebox Special #9 Skincare*. One of their special editions, the Skincare box is designed to reveal everything you wanted to know about Korean skincare! In this box we have 7 incredibly varied and interesting products, 5 of which are full sizes!

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence 60ml ($18) – You apply this essence to you face as you would a serum. Containing snail secretion filtrate, bee venom, and EGF this formula hydrates, improves the tone, and combats aging. I’ve seen a lot of UK skincare harnessing the qualities of bee venom and snail filtrate in their products so I’m very curious about this which combines the two!

Boscians Cycle Repair Wrinkle Spot 15ml ($24) – This cream is designed to target wrinkles and fine lines, filling them out and smoothing the skin. It is gentle enough to use around the eye area too. With peony root extract, a potent anti-antioxidant, this cream also protects against further skin damage.

Dewytree Tea Tree Porest Powder in Toner 200ml ($26) – This toner is enriched with tea tree extract and green clay to treat blemishes and unclog the pores. I need a new toner so this has arrived at just the right time, plus its formula sounds exactly what my blemish-prone skin has been after.

Dewytree White Dew 7 Cut Extreme Serum 30ml ($41) – 7 Cut serum gains its name from the fact that is is free from seven nasties; mineral oils, paraben, sulfates, trithanolamine, benzophenone, synthetic colours and talc. Its gentle formula is said to even skin tone, whilst lifting and firming sagging skin.

Secret Key Super Plumping Jelly Cream 50ml ($77) – Packed full of superfood extracts including blueberry, orange, almond, broccoli,  salmon eggs, and pumpkin, the Super Plumping Jelly Cream hydrates, tightens and plumps leaving a more youthful complexion. This cream smells amazing and the non-greasy, jelly texture feels wonderfully hydrating and sinks right in. The hot pink packaging also sings to me – I think I’m in love!

Nasarang Rose Balancing Toner 5ml (50ml, $58) – This toner has a rather unique, gel-like consistancy which glides on the skin and feels incredibly soothing. The rose oil, renowned for its rejuvenating properties, makes it smell heavenly to use.

Verikos Advanced Power Tightening Cream 4g (75ml $36) – Designed to be used as the final step in your skincare routine, this gel-cream is rich in collagen and lotus flower water and nourishes, firms and improves elasticity. Unlike some anti-aging creams which can be heavy and totally inappropriate for oily skin this is very light and easily absorbed. Although a tiny sample, a little goes a long way.

So that was my very first Memebox – but I’m pretty sure it won’t be my last! I was blown away by the contents of this box; at $29 for products that total appriximately $194 if bought seperately the value is phenomenal, and the broad range of products included means I really get a taste of Korean skincare. Unlike the teeny-tiny samples you so often get in beauty boxes, the fact that there are so many full sizes mean I can actually road test the efficacy of these products over weeks, rather than days.

All of the Memeboxes are shipped directly from Korea which does mean regular shipping takes between 15 – 25 business days (express shipping options are available at an additional charge and take 3 – 7 business days), you can rest assured however that the $6.99 shipping is all you will pay – no huge customs charges or taxes are whacked on afterwards!

If you fancy taking the plunge and exploring some of Korea’s best kept beauty secrets you can order any box off the website and using my exclusive promo code PU9SUS enjoy a $5 discount!  (Code valid until August 31st, one use per customer)

Exciting, unique and amazing value, I will certainly be exploring more of Memebox’s offerings. Will you?

Wow! The items are awesome, how’d you like the Benton? I’ve known Memebox since they started a few years ago but I am so scared of the customs duties I heard apparently being charged before. As I am shipping to the UK, hearing that you haven’t got hit with UK customs charges makes me kind of want to take the plunge and order..

I think it is possible to get customs charges but very, very rare. I like the Benton, not sure if I’m seeing any massive difference in my skin, but it’s not caused any spots or adverse reaction and I like the texture. X
