After the success of my first Memebox I’ve snapped up a few more boxes that will be arriving over the next month or so, but I was also pleased to find a new box was winging its way to me in the interim and it arrived today!
The Memebox OMG box* ($29), from Korea’s number one beauty box company Memebox, is all about the weird and wonderful. The box promises to be loaded with weirdly awesome, yet effective beauty treasures that will work miracles for your hair, skin and body!
In all honesty this is probably just the box to push me out of my beauty comfort zone – I’m not the most adventurous of consumers, and if I was out shopping I would probably stick well known brands and products. I quite like the way beauty boxes challenge me and Memebox certainly does that; the OMG box even more so.
So what unusual products were hiding behind the gorgeous pink exterior of my latest Memebox?
SKINAZ The Kissable 24H Lip Tattoo
(RRP $18, 13g) Randomly selected from Lovely Pink, Sexy Red, Rising Sun, Sweet Wine, or Kiss Orange the SKINAZ Lip Tattoo takes lip makeup to a whole new level. Apply to the lips then peel off once dry (10-15mins) and it leaves a semi-permanent color tattoo on the lips for 24 hours long. As someone who rarely wears bright lip colours because I hate them wearing off this really excites me. I got the orange shade which isn’t a colour I’d normally opt for, but I’m always up for trying something different!
Elizavecca Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask (RRP $46, 100g) This Carbonated Clay Mask contains carbonated water that bubbles up the very moment it is applied to the face and penetrates into pores to extract all gunk and junk from the skin! I really like a pampering face mask so i’m happy to find this in my box, plus its formula of green tea, pomegranate and charcoal extracts sounds lush!
SKINAZ Premium Vitablets (RRP $46, 39g) These tablets contain a high level of Vitamin C and can be mixed with water to make a nourishing facial toner, hair rinse or bath soak. Vitamin C begins to lose its efficacy and oxidize once mixed with water so it’s great that this is in tablet form and can be mixed and used as needed. I can’t wait to experiment with this and find a use that works for me.
Hope Girl Night Diva Lip Gloss ($22, 6g) This is a high sheen lip gloss with in-built mirror and LED light; perfect for emergency touch-ups. Perhaps this isn’t so much of a “wow” product, but it’s a cute concept and I love lip glosses!
Ladykin Aqua Exfoliator for Body ($14, 150ml) Forget granular exfoliation; this spray on exfoliator uses papaya and pineapple to gently remove dead skin cells. No more sloughing away and damaging skin, simply spray onto the skin then rub in circular motions to remove dead skin. I’ve never tried this form of exfoliation but it sounds great.
Pure Smile 3 Step Bust Pack ($6) – This is a single use pack said to soften and tone the bust area. Firstly you exfoliate, then apply the hydrogel pack, before applying the cream. I’ve never thought to use anything like this and given that it’s a single use I shall wait until I have a night out. This is definitely an unusual item and not one I’d ordinarily pick up.
Memebox say their OMG Boxes will literally make you go “Huh?” “Hmmm…Cool!” so if you’re a daring beauty enthusiast open to trying bizarre new trends and are bored by run of the mill boxes then one of these would definitely be up your street!
Unlike some beauty boxes you will find very few teeny samples in your Memebox – in fact all 6 products in this particular box are full size and their total value is $162, which is significantly more than the $29 price point. Memebox ships worldwide with a few exclusions (a full list can be found on their website) and standard shipping to the UK costs $6.99, inclusive of taxes.
The first two OMG boxes (including this one) have now sold out but you can search the vast array of boxes available on the Memebox website and using my promo code PU9SUS you can get a $5 discount on any box! (Valid until end of August, limited to one use per customer)
If this sort of box is a leap too far Memebox have a variety of boxes on offer, and are regularly adding new boxes to their website, so depending whether you like skincare, makeup or a mixture there are boxes to suit all tastes. Prices start at $23 (around £13) but are strictly limited availability so if you see one you like the sound of don’t wait too long! Which boxes have caught your eye?
