Today September’s Birchbox landed on my doorstep and I literally dropped everything to eagerly open the packaging and unveil the contents.
I cannot resist looking at the spoilers Birchbox release before dispatch day so I already knew that the theme of our September is Happy Days and that every subscriber would receive a cute photo-clip in their box. I love this but I can already see my toddler pinching it! In addition the box can be used to frame a favourite photo which is a nice touch.
The usual corcertina leaflet carries lots of photos that Birchbox customers sent in. Sadly mine weren’t included this time but the box does include some exclusive Photobox offers so I can get my favourite photo made into a canvas or another item.
The first item in my box is the Model Co Lip Lacquer in Viva (RRP £15 for full size). This is an item subscribers could choose themselves so it was no surprise. Other options were a brighter pink lip lacquer or a mascara, but being a lip gloss fanatic and preferring lighter shades the choice for me was a no brainer. I like the fact that unlike most of my glosses this has no shimmer and is more like a liquid lipstick in terms of coverage.
The next item is one every subscriber will get and I can’t imagine there will be many complaints about it because Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream is pretty much a cult product. I already own a few samples of this but that’s not an issue as it’s a great eye cream and the ultra-chic, high quality packaging is fabulous. This is a 3ml size but from experience this will last a while (full size RRP £25.50).
Next up is the Agave Healing Oil (Full size RRP £16). I’ve recently become a convert to hair oils and now I really notice a difference on days when I skip using one. As i’m growing my hair out currently I’m very much concious about my hair and keeping it in tip-top condition is my number one priority; this therefore is a very welcome addition to my box and one I will enjoy sampling.
Moving on is a 5ml sample of Skin & Co Sicilian Truffle Therapy Serum (Full size RRP £42). This not only a new brand to me but also I don’t think I’ve heard of any product containing truffle extract before. I’ll be interested to report back on this after use to see if it does deliver on its promise to firm and brighten.
The last beauty item in my box is the Korres Citrus Showergel 50ml (Full size RRP £8). I’m very happy to receive this as one of my previous boxes contained the matching body milk and I loved the scent. Korres is a fairly affordable brand too so it’s a product that I’ll be able to purchase the full size of.
Last but not least we have our lifestyle extra – a pack of Urban Fruit Magnificent Mango – which is another item that no doubt my toddler will snaffle!
Once again I love my Birchbox – there isn’t one item that won’t be used and a couple of the brands are brand new discoveries which always keeps me interested! I’m always happy to see some sort of food related item in my Birchbox too as it feels like a little treat and with my busy lifestyle that is something which is definitely needed!
What was in your box and were you as happy as me with the selection?
