Welcome to the latest installment of my weekly run down posts.
This week has been a busy one with lots of beauty box action, which began on Monday with the not entirely successful relaunch of Love Me Beauty. The new site was supposed to launch on Saturday but it was Monday by the time most people were able to log on and make their selection. I will cover the relaunch in more depth later this month but suffice to say I think myself and Love Me Beauty will be parting company. I also published my review of the September You Beauty Discovery box, as ever a great box, and took C to her regular afternoon playgroup.
On Tuesday I had to pick up our veg bag that we’d forgotten to collect on Friday -I blame the beer festival we visited (and quite possibly all the beer we drunk) for that! Then I had to stay in for the alarm company to come and service our alarm. Confined to the house while I waited, I wrote a review of Our Tiny Bees Über Balm and also did my nails.
On Wednesday my little one had a dentist appointment so we jumped on a bus into town which is still a treat for a three year old! I browsed the weekly Bric a Brac market and was astonished to find some La Priarie, Nuxe and Caudalie minis so they found their way into my stash for the knockdown price of £2!
I spent Thursday morning at the new Prince’s Trust building in Burnley learning all about the fantastic work they do for young people. The Prince’s Trust have transformed large derelict weaving mills into their new base and have really breathed new life into this former industrial area, whilst preserving the wonderful Victorian industrial architecture. It was also a bumper day for beauty boxes and I arrived home to find not only had my September Birchbox and Lookfantastic box arrived but also my Memebox Jackpot box – which was an amazing 3rd place winning box (more on that later this week)!
It was my little one’s first visit to her new Nursery School on Friday. She really enjoyed it and is definitely ready to start next week. That afternoon my Latest In Beauty Glamour Power List and Beauty Bible Loves boxes arrived. I published two blog posts – one about product disappointments and another promoting a CoppaFeel! charity event taking place later this week. If you live near to London you may want to check it out as it sounds great and CoppaFeel! is a really worthwhile cause to support.
On Saturday I had a band concert at a local community centre fair, where C had a fantastic getting her face painted and playing on the bouncy castle. As that took up the majority of the afternoon we did very little else with the day.
I’m taking part in a couple of Blogger Swaps so on Sunday we went into town where I picked up some goodies for them. You can find one of my swap buddy’s blogs here. The budget is a very miniscule £5 and she lives in America so I have to keep the weight down for postage, making this particular swap quite a challenge. I shall nevertheless be very creative and do some savvy shopping to make my budget stretch as far a possible!
What have you been up to this week?
