Lookfantastic Beauty Box – October Edition

After September’s successful debut it was no surprise that Lookfantastic’s Beauty Box would become a regular fixture – the super fast sell-out and amazing feedback made sure of that!

As with the first box I was quick off the mark to pre-order the October edition and Lookfantastic were equally as quick to dispatch. No waiting around till the middle of the month like some beauty boxes; on 1st October I received my dispatch email and just two days later the lovely Hermes lady handed my precious parcel over to me!

Once again the box was beautifully presented and came with a gatefold leaflet, detailing all the products included. So read on to discover what treats were inside the second of Lookfantastic’s Beauty Boxes and what my verdict is!

L’Oreal Proffesional Serie Expert Pro-Keratin Refill Shampoo & Masque (Travel Size, 100ml and 75ml) – This shampoo and masque from L’Oreal’s professional haircare range includes strengthening ingredients such as Pro-Keratin and Incell, and are designed to help revive weak, damaged hair whilst protecting it from any further damage. These are very decent sized samples that should last a while and give me ample opportunity to test the claims.

KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry (Travel Size 75ml, Full Size RRP £11.45) – This spray claims to speed up drying time by up to 50% and in the process protects the hair from heat. It is formulated to reduce friction and condition the hair, leaving it soft, smooth and frizz-free.

I’m in the process of growing out my hair so anything that promises to keep it in good condition is most welcome. I’ve never tried anything from this brand either so that also excites me!

Balance Me Facial Expression Filler (Full Size 15ml, RRP £22) – This Facial Expression Filler from Balance Me promises to firm, lift and refine the skin with the help of potent Rose, Bergamot and Frankincense essential oils. Additionally Acacia gum and Acmella Oleracea plant extracts work to soothe and relax muscles, whilst Hyraluronic Acid plumps and smooths the skin.

I’m a big fan of Balance Me’s natural skincare range so i’m looking forward to adding this to my beauty cabinet.

Gatineau Paris Collagene Expert Ultimate Skin Soothing Cream (Sample Size 15ml. Full Size, RRP £54) – Gatineau is a leading French skincare brand which offers a wide range of high performance products. This cream contains a high concentrate of collagen and elastin to help lessen the appearance of wrinkles and correct uneven skin texture. Together with Hyaluronic Acid it promises a smoother, plumper complexion.

I’m looking forward to trialling this cream, which I hope will help brighten my complexion.

This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray (Sample Size 5ml. Full Size, RRP £25) –
This is the soon-to-be launched, revamped version of the Sleep Pillow Spray we received in September’s box, and it claims to work much faster than the original spray; helping you fall quickly asleep and awaken completely refreshed. Due to the fact I rarely have difficulty sleeping however both sprays will be stashed in my bedside table for emergency use.

Korres Citrus Shower Gel (Sample Size 50ml. Full Size RRP £8) – The Korres Citrus Shower Gel has a gentle, yet uplifting citrus scent and a skin-friendly formula with Vitamins C and E, Zinc and Aloe. It is free from mineral oil, silicone, propylene glycol and ethanolamine.

I actually received a sample of this very same shower gel in September’s Birchbox but nonetheless I’m fairly happy to see it included here.

At £15 inclusive of P&P the Lookfantastic box is amazing value and overall i’m very pleased with the selection of products that have been included. My only minor criticism would be the inclusion of the Sleep Spray which, if you got last month’s box, is effectively a repeat of a product from that box. Additionally it would be nice to see Lookfantastic include an item or two of makeup in next month’s line-up.

Despite being the new kid on the block Lookfantastic really know how to put together a beauty box and create a buzz around it. I’ve already preordered the November box (available here) and am excitedly awaiting it’s contents!

Have you ordered any of the Lovefantastic boxes yet?

I agree that it would be nice to see them shake up the selection a little next month. I’m sticking with this for now over Love Me Beauty though as the value is great and it’s only just over £1 extra!

You’re right, I might do the same. The only thing that I like about the Love Me Beauty is that I can choose what suit me the best. But the value and selection of products hasn’t been the best. I shall see…
