So Susan Lacquer Love – October Review

My Lacquer Love box from So Susan Cosmetics has landed. This month’s theme is inspired by Halloween and is aptly named Supernatural, so as you may imagine we’ve got some gorgeous vampy and other-worldly shades in the box.

This month we have a good mix of polishes, with two solid colours and two glitters. The four shades are Red Cape, Mermaid, Aurora and Ice Queen, and alongside the nail polishes is a randomly selected makeup item from Jelly Pong Pong – So Susan’s sister company.

First out of the box is Red Cape – this is a gorgeous deep red that dries to a lovely shine and requires just two coats for a completely opaque colour. It dries super quick too and applies really smoothly.

Secondly we have Mermaid which is very similar in application and finish to Red Cape – fast drying and with a high shine.  This is a really unusual deep green shade. Here it is pictured with two coats.

Next is Aurora – a deep brown colour that is packed with lovely shimmery flecks of red and gold. This requires is three coats but it’s really worth the additional effort.

Finally we have Ice Queen – a clear polish containing tiny particles of silver glitter that can be worn alone or over a solid base colour. I applied two coats here.

Onto the bonus makeup item and I was really pleased to get a gorgeous lip colour. The Lip Orchid as it is called is beautifully packaged and looks stunning on my dressing table. Inside is a vibrant gloss in shade Petal Pink, that is smooth and buttery soft. Containing Aloe Vera extract and Vitamin E it helps to heal lips and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

The Lacquer Love boxes are issued monthly and cost £14.95 including postage. In them you receive four full sized, individually packaged polishes, with a value of £6.95 each, plus a surprise beauty item. The polishes are 4 – free and are vegan and cruelty-free.

I’m really happy with the mixture of colours and finishes this month. They definitely fit the theme and season well. What do you think of the shades this month?
