November’s Birchbox has arrived – cue much excitement! This month’s theme is Cosy At Home and the box promises to contain everything you need to pamper yourself, indulge your senses and protect you from the ravages of cold winter weather.
I’d already been very naughty and sneeked a peek at the spoilers so I had a good idea of what brands and products could be in my box, as well as a few items that I had my eye on and hoped would be included. But what made it into my box and was I happy?
Dr Jart+ V7 Turnover Booster (RRP £32) – I’m a massive fan of Korean skincare so I was over the moon to see Birchbox were treating all their subscribers to a fullsize skincare product from Dr Jart+, a leading Korean Dermatological Cosmetics brand. I was lucky enough to get the V7 Turnover Booster; a gel serum that soothes the skin and provides a moisture boost – very much needed at this time of the year. Worth a whopping £32 this more than exceeds the subscription cost!
Lord & Berry Mini Bronzer in Sienna (full sized RRP £19) – This is a sample of Lord & Berry’s matte bronzer. With no shimmer this is a perfect bronzer for adding glow at a time of year when summer tans are fading. I was a little disappointed that the packaging wasn’t very deluxe, but the actual product is super fine in texture and is a beautiful, flattering tone; subtle but easily buildable. This will definitely be used over the winter months to pep up my dull complexion.
OPI Nail Lacquer (RRP £11.95) – I love this gorgeous silver, called Turn On The Haute Light, which is part of OPI’s limited edition Coca Cola range. This is the perfect colour for the party season and is a one-coat wonder, with a large brush that makes application a doddle. Another amazing full-sized product, I’m super impressed!
English Laundry Signature For Her Perfume sample (Full Size £60) – This is a gorgeous floral fragrance with a hint of musk which adds a degree of sophistication and stops it from being too cloying. I really like this scent and it’s unlike any other perfume I own so I will definitely be investing in the full size!
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle travel size (Full size RRP £14) – From Birchbox’s own brand hair product range this leave-in conditioning spray detangles and helps to defrizz, as well as protecting colour and adding shine. I have short hair which doesn’t tangle, so I’ll probably use this on my daughter’s fine, wavy hair which is prone to tangling.
This month’s lifestyle extra is Drinkwel (full size RRP £39.99), a supplement which helps you recover from a night out (read excessive drinking)! This is a one use pack and I’d much rather have had the chocolate some other subscribers received to be honest as my days of partying are long gone. Having read the ingredients though, I’m sure these supplements will also come in handy to help recover from the fatigue following a long Christmas shopping trip or the excess of one too many mince pies so I will keep them to hand!
So that was my Cosy At Home Birchbox and I must say I’m very pleased with the well thought out theme and range of items included. The selection of products and brands in November’s Birchbox is exceptional and I love the generous inclusion of two full sized products, which alone make my box worth four times what I paid!
What was in your box and were you as happy as me with the selection?
