Memebox Special #39 Cafe Box

Last week I was pleasantly surprised to find another Memebox was being sent to me for review from the fantastic team behind Korea’s number 1 beauty box! This turned out to be the Memebox Special #39 Cafe Box* (RRP $23 or £14); a selection of 6 full sized skincare items perfectly themed around your favorite indulgent treats from your go-to coffee joint.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker so I was hoping the box would include some other “sweet treats” and I wasn’t let down. Inside the box was jam-packed with a wonderful selection of cafe-themed goodies that beyond being cute to look at really do pack a skincare punch!

Let’s take a closer look at the contents:

Tony Moly Latte Art Cappuccino Cream-In-Scrub (95 g, $13) – As we’ve come to expect from Tonymoly the packaging of this is ridiculously cute. Shaped as a mug of iced coffee the straw on top is actually a scoop you can use to take out small portions of the facial scrub, which really smells of coffee! Containing coffee and caffeine extracts this scrub will certainly invigorate the skin. This product is definitely a talking point and would make an amazing gift for a coffee/skincare aficionado.

Binu Cook Ice Cream Scoop Cacao Body Soap (70 g, $3) – This is a bar of soap shaped as, and scented exactly like, a scoop of chocolate icecream. It smells good enough to eat and I imagine it will be fun to use when my 3 year old has her bath! I love the fact that is 100% natural and handmade too.

Vella Fresh Creamy Soap (100ml, $13) – This is a facial cleanser with the texture of whipped cream; you basically scoop some out and then lather it up in your hands before massaging it onto your face. It has a light, very fresh citrus scent and a unique formula containing honey, floral extracts and donkey milk – said to be one of Cleopatra’s beauty secrets. It is also 8-free, meaning it excludes many of the so-called “nasties” like mineral oils, sulphates and parabens so often found in skincare.

Pure Smile Original Mask Sheet in Original Herb (23 ml, $1) – Available in either lavender or green tea. I got the lavender variant which is fine by me. The herb mask is supposed to help moisturise the skin and relieve any irritation and redness.

Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm in 05 Plum Pink Cupcake (7g, $6) – This is an adorable cupcake shaped lipbalm that was selected from one of three available variations. As well as hydrating it gives the lips a fresh pink tint.

Cleomee Anti-Wrinkle Donkey Lotion (250 ml, $83) – Containing donkey milk, hyaluronic acid, ceramide and vitamin E this is an anti-wrinkle body lotion that promises to deliver rich nutrition and replenishment deep down into your skin. I love body lotions and this sounds like it has added oomph! With an RRP of $83 a bottle i’m certainly hoping for great things.

The overall value of this box is a phenomenal $119 (around £75) and the theme is brilliantly executed. Each item fits the Cafe theme perfectly and there is a great variety of items, some of which also have the cute appeal that Korean beauty products are famed for.

Memebox ships to around 50 destinations worldwide direct from Korea at a cost of $6.99 (approx £4.20) for UK standard shipping, which is quoted at taking between 10 and 2 days. However after shipping there are no further customs charges or taxes! Unlike a subscription based box service there is no ongoing commitment with Memebox;  you can buy as few or as many boxes as you like, but be warned – with their amazing value and wonderful themes they do get addictive!

You can browse all of Memebox’s collections and their online store here and if you see a box that takes your fancy use my exclusive code OCKHMD to get $5 off a $30 spend at checkout!
