HJ Manicure – Midnight Sky Review

HJ Manicure is a 5-free, cruelty free and vegan friendly nail brand created by professional Manicurist and Nail Technician Helen J. With over 12 years experience in the industry and a wealth of knowledge gleaned from the long line of well known brands and celebrity clients she’s worked with, Helen really knows a thing or two about fashion trends and more importantly what not to put on the nails. It’s no wonder her own range has gone down a storm in beauty circles!

To celebrate the launch of their new Autumn / Winter 2014 Shimmer Collection HJ Manicure had a Twitter giveaway and I was ecstatic to win a colour of my choice from their wonderful range. Naturally my eyes were fixed firmly on their stunning Shimmer Collection and it was a tough decision to make, with a pretty pink striking green, and sophisticated bronze amongst the colours. In the end I opted for Midnight Sky; a beautiful deep blue metallic shade that is completely unlike any other in my polish collection.

As soon as my polish arrived I was eager to try it and I wasn’t let down. The formula is really smooth and requires just two coats to achieve a fully opaque result that looks smooth, shiny and is quick drying. It also has fabulous staying power; remaining chip-free for 5 days, which is probably a record for my nails! Best of all being free from Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin Dibutyl phthalate, and Camphor I know that I’m not compromising my health for the sake of gorgeous nails.

HJ Manicure’s 15ml polishes come in a core range of 16 vivid colours, with 4 new shades and a Dual Top and Base coat being added to the range for A/W 2014. Retailing at £9.50 direct from HJ Manicure’s website the salon-quality polishes are excellent value and quality-wise are definitely on par with my other go-to nail brands. I’ll certainly be keeping my eye on this brand to see what other gorgeous colours they release.
