Glossybox for Harvey Nichols Christmas Box

I’m not a subscriber to Glossybox‘s regular monthly beauty box, despite being tempted on numerous occasions, but when I saw previews of their latest limited edition box, which is a collaboration with Harvey Nichols, I knew I had to get one. As you’d expect from this very high end store the Glossybox for Harvey Nichols box epitomises luxury beauty, packed full of amazing brands such as Laura Mercier, NARS, Dermalogica, Benefit and Elemis to name a few, and worth an enormous £150. For £35 (or £30 for subscribers) the box was an absolute bargain!

The box officially launched on November 17th and within hours had completely sold out. Having successfully snapped one up all that was left was to await my box of treats.

My box arrived within the week and when I removed the outer packaging I was met with the prettiest of boxes; white in colour and embellished with snowflakes and the Glossybox name and logo in silver. Underneath the lid everything was wrapped in grey tissue paper and secured with a Harvey Nichols branded bow and also included was a contents card, detailing the products and their full sized RRPs.

Of course within the stylish packaging, and the main reason for getting this limited edition box, was the fabulous array of beauty products, which I will guide you through below:

Harvey Nichols Mini Scented Candle in Party (£7.50) – The smell of this scented candle filled the box and I was drawn to it immediately. Selected from one of four scents I received Party; a sophisticated blend of black pepper, frankincense, cedarwood and patchouli, housed in a sleek, black glass holder. Although it is not a beauty product I think it is a perfect addition to the line-up. I’ll be saving this to light at Christmas!

OPI Viking In A Vinter Vonderland Nail Polish (full size, £12) – I love OPI polishes and this is a gorgeous deep purple colour which will be lovely over the party season paired up with a little black dress. Am I alone in thinking the cheesy names OPI call their polishes are awful though?

Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser (5ml, worth £15) Launched last year this radical face cream contains bee venom which is said to ‘fool’ the skin into thinking it has been lightly stung. This causes the body to direct blood towards the area and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, smoothing and plumping out fine lines. I’m looking forward to testing these claims and given the full size cream retails at £150 I’ve got my fingers crossed for great things from this little sample!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (15ml, worth £20) – An anti-aging cream which dramatically increases the skin’s elasticity, suppleness and hydration levels, this is probably Elemis’ most well known product and i’m happy to see it make an appearance here!

Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum (5ml, worth £19). This supercharged peptide serum helps stimulate collagen production to firm and renew the skin, while Argan and Rose oils smooth away fine lines and revitalise the complexion. As you can mix a few drops of this into your usual night cream i’m looking forward to adding this into my existing routine.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (30ml, worth £17). This is a favourite primer of mine as the texture is so silky and hydrating. It also helps my foundation to glide on smoothly and prolongs the staying power.

Mini NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien (1.7g, worth £14) – This may be described as a mini but it’s only a smidgen smaller than the full size. I’ve not tried this yet, but it looks like a very flattering pink shade that will be gorgeous when accompanied by a dramatic, smokey eye.

Mini Benefit They’re Real! Mascara (worth £7) – The first mascara to make me go “ooh”, I love They’re Real and am really pleased to have a mini sized one to tuck into my makeup bag. This super long-wearing mascara provides great volume and separation, and is a must-have in my opinion!

La Coupe Coconut & Macadamia Oil Intensive Repair Treatment (40g, £3.50) – This paraben free treatment is infused with coconut, macadamia and soy to deeply condition and revive dry, damaged hair and it sounds amazing. As this is a single use treatment I plan to put this to one side for use when my hair has grown more as these sachets tend to contain far too much product for my very short hair.

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment (10ml, £5.75) – Boasting a nourishing combination of the world’s most lightweight natural oils, macadamia oil and argan oil, this treatment is instantly absorbed, offering natural UV protection, extending the life of colour treatments and protecting against heat-related hair damage. It sounds like a great all-rounder and one which I’m excited to try.

Show Beauty Finishing Spray (full size, £30) – Each box featured one of eleven products from this super-luxe hair range. I’m happy to receive the finishing spray as I tend to use up hairsprays quite quickly and its something I will get daily use out of.

There are some of my favourite brands here, as well as a couple of new discoveries, and I have been desperate to try Macadamia Oil so that’s really exciting. I love the fact that we have skincare, makeup and hair care as it really means there is something for everyone here. Hats off to Glossybox for producing a fantastic collaboration box!

Lovely looking box – but again this is more a description of the contents rather than a review. Like the other reviews, you are always looking forward to trying them rather than telling us what they are actually like. Please try some of the contents before posting.

Thank you for your feedback – however this is more of an unboxing post than a review. As I’ve mentioned some of the products I have tried and have given my opinion of (the primer and mascara) and others I will in due course 🙂

I did like the look of this box but I didn’t order it. I’ve tried Glossy box before and the costumer service was so awful it really put me off. I keep meaning to try again but comments on their facebook page make me think they still have problems! The laura mercier premier is brilliant!

One tip I’ve tried with hair conditioning sachets is to seal them closed, you don’t have to use them all in one go (if you think ingredients might spoil store it in your fridge)
