So Susan Lacquer Love – November Review

After what feels like quite a long wait November’s Lacquer Love Box from So Susan Cosmetics has arrived. This months theme is The Modern Muse and I’ve got four very stylish polishes to show you; Mint Cream, Black Velvet, Amethyst and Imperial Blue.

For November the bottles have had a slight overhaul and instead of the usual black caps they have silver ones, which I think make the polishes look much more chic and upmarket and I hope we see these going forward. But let’s have a look at the polishes themselves.

Firstly we have Mint Cream. This is a very pretty pale green that to be honest I would describe as more of a pistachio green. Quick drying the polish was opaque in two coats and has a high-shine finish.

The second polish in the line up is Imperial Blue, a gorgeous electric blue.  Opaque in two coats this dries to a lovely glossy finish.

The third polish is Amethyst, a rich purple that is a perfect autumnal shade.  Like the blue this dries to a high gloss and requires just two coats.

Finally we have Black Velvet. Black is a dramatic shade which I love to wear alone but that looks equally fabulous worn with a glitter over the top. This was opaque in two coats but unlike the other polishes has a slight matte finish when dry. I like the matte look as I think it sets it aside from any other polish in my collection and it also looks a little more sophisticated.

The free gift in this month’s box is the So Susan Concealer Quad, with four shades that can be blended to make a custom colour or can be used alone as required. The consistency of the concealer looks a little shiny so I will be interested to see how this behaves on the skin but I do like the idea that you can blend shades to achieve a perfect match.

So Susan Nail Polishes are 4-Free with no DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde Resin, and they also contain rosehip oil to moisturise the nails. With a quick drying time, smooth consistency and good longevity these polishes are great. I like the fact that each polish comes individually boxed so the set can be split and the polishes gifted seperately.

This months box features a brilliant set of polishes. I just seem to be getting my box later each month with no notice, which is a little frustrating as I never know when to expect it! I think after Christmas I may take a break from Lacquer Love though as my polishes are starting to pile up.

Lacquer Love boxes are released monthly and in them you receive four full size polishes, plus addtional beauty item, delivered to your door for £14.95 inclusive of postage (UK only)! You can find out more and subscribe here.
