Le Mont Botanique Skincare

I was recently contacted by a company called Le Mont Botanique who were keen for me to review their products. A completely new brand to me, as it is I imagine to most of my readers, Le Mont Botanique is a young European brand, known for the skin and hair care products that are rich in natural, active botanicals and free from chemical preservatives, colours and fragrance. These products utilise unique formulations of plant extracts that remain fresh and active due to special airless single-application packaging which prevents oxidation so are quite unlike many ranges on the market.

My interest was certainly piqued by this unique sounding brand and I was very excited to sample their skincare.

I was sent their 5-Day Rescue Pack*, containing the essentials of primer, day cream, night cream and eye serum. As you can see each product comes packaged in an individual, single-use ampoule, which ensures freshness, efficacy and negates the need for chemical preservatives. Shaking well before each application, you simply twist cap off ampoule and apply as much of the contents as you require. If all contents are not used, replace the cap of the ampoule, refrigerate and use within five days of opening.

The first step in the routine is the Primer; a Hydrating Tonic full of natural antioxidants including Green Tea. The Rosewater really gives the Primer an amazing scent but moreover has antibacterial properties to help cleanse and keep the skin clear. Finally Hyaluronic acid prolongs the retention of moisture in the skin. Simply patting on and allowing it to be absorbed this feels very refreshing on the skin.

The Primer should then be followed up with the Day Cream; a light textured Revitalising Serum. The serum contains a potent blend of cold pressed essential oils, including rose extracts. These oils provide a natural source of vitamins A, C, and E which are vital in maintaining healthy skin. In addition Coenzyme Q10 improves elasticity and regulates hydration. The cream is light but very moisturising. It also sinks into the skin leaving the perfect, non-greasy base upon which to apply makeup.

At night it’s time to switch from the Day Cream to the Night Moisturising Concentrate. With wild geranium, avocado, and wheat germ oils soften and nourish the skin, while lavender with its anti-inflammatory properties soothes the skin. Hyaluronic acid helps retain the bioactivity of the skin, preserve moisture, control the hydration of tissue and contribute to skin elasticity. The scent predominantly comes from the lavender and is gorgeous; very fresh but not overpowering. As lavender is renowned for its ability to relax the senses this was the perfect night cream. This has a slightly richer texture than the day cream but unlike some night creams isn’t heavy, making it perfect for oiler complexions as well as those with drier skin.

Last but not least is the Eye Contour Serum which works to rejuvenate, hydrate, replenish and tighten the delicate eye contour area. Again this formula is rich in natural botanical extracts including rose Rosehip oil, containing high levels of vitamin C, and Globularia Cordifolia extract. Additionally plant derived Palmitoyl Tripeptide and Tretinoin boost cell repair and accelerate natural production of collagen of the skin, actively combating wrinkles and fine lines. The eye serum has an almost fluid-like texture and it was very cooling and hydrating. I found that the ampoule was sufficient enough for 3 uses!

I really enjoyed using these fresh products; the textures are so lovely and the scents are light and soothing. I also like the fact the routine is simple to follow and due to the minimal ingredients would suit all skintypes – from the very dry, to oily, to the most sensative.

This kit can be purchased direct from Le Mont Botanique for €29 and is the perfect was to trial their skincare system. If you’re concerned about what goes into the products you put onto your skin then this brand is definitely one to consider.

Have you heard of Le Mont Botanique before? If so I’d be interested to hear what you think to the concept.
