You Beauty Discovery – February Review

This month’s You Beauty Discovery hit the doormat a few days ago and I was very excited to delve into the contents. Although the theme of February’s box was Red Carpet I found the shortlist less than dazzling, however there were a few items I had my eye on and was keen to try. So what did I select?

The first product I chose was IN.FUSED Coconut Body Scrub (100g, value £9.99), an all natural, vegan scrub handcrafted by small London company In.Fused. This body scrub is formulated with coffee to detoxify, target skin imperfections and replenish the skin, whilst the blend of coconut flakes and coconut oil exfoliates and moisturises dull, dry skin. I love coconut so this product is right up my street, plus the fact that all the ingredients are natural, with no hidden nasties, is a huge tick in my box.

The second item that caught my eye was the Kiss The Moon After Dark Face Oil (3ml, value £4.80). The warm notes of pure Rose Absolute, Frankincense and Ylang Ylang in this cruelty-free, 100% natural facial oil are designed to relax the body and ease the mind and sound like the perfect antedote to today’s busy lives. With vitamin A loaded Rosehip Seed oil, proven to improve skin’s moisture levels and minimise the appearance of wrinkles, this facial oil promises to stimulate the circulation and encourage cell regeneration to help keep skin looking and feeling young. A North Yorkshire company, Kiss The Moon really appeals to my Yorkshire roots!

Each box also included two bonus items – BareMinerals bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation (single use) and Lindt Lindor Milk Truffles (50g).

Excluding extras my box is worth around £15 which is great value, and I really love the fact that I’ve been introduced to some small, British brands that wouldn’t necessarily have been on my radar otherwise! The items I’ve chosen feel really indulgent and sophisticated too; i’m excited to combine them into the ultimate pamper night, especially with Valentine’s Day being right around the corner!

For a monthly cost of £6.95 which includes postage subscribers to You Beauty Discovery have the option to choose two products of their choice, and 2 to 4 extra samples are included as a bonus. You can still order the February box right up until the end of the month and the other items available to subscribers include: Age Defy+ 24Hour Brightening Moisturiser (10ml); Proto-col Moisturising Facial Gel (20ml); Kiss The Moon After Dark Bath Oil (3ml); L’Occitane en Provence Almond Delicious Hands (10ml); Josh Wood Blending Wand in light brown, dark brown or dark blonde (28ml).
This really is a solid box and ideal for people who like to know what their box will contain in advance.

What did you chose this month?

I went for the hand cream and the face gel – wasn’t as keen on this month’s choices but these were the products that caught my eye.

That’s a tough one – it’s very no frills, there are no collaborations or specially designed boxes like you get with Glossybox or Birchbox, but it’s nearly half the price so is great if you’re on a budget but want the excitement of a little delivery each month! I’ve had some really fantastic value boxes with You Beauty too, although the last few months haven’t been quite as good as previous ones. X
