Makeup Revolution Mascaras

Makeup Revolution seems to be the darling of the beauty world right now; celebrating its first Birthday only last week, it has launched a mind-blowing 500 products already and its palettes are some of the most raved about products out there.

Today I’m featuring two of their mascaras and i’m keen to see if they can match higher end brands in terms of results and quality. Priced at just £2 I may be asking a lot, but I know Makeup Revolution delivers when it comes to their eyeshadow palettes so read on to find out if their mascaras stand up to scrutiny.

teapigs Everyday Brew

I love a good cuppa (who doesn’t?) but out shopping I usually just grab a box of PG Tips or Typhoo and haven’t really ventured into the world of a more premium tea. After all black tea is just black tea isn’t it? As purveyors of quality tea, the good folk at teapigs would beg to differ and so they laid the gauntlet down; try our Everyday Brew for two weeks and never go back. So I did and my eyes really were opened to a tea that actually made me savour each mouthful rather than simply gulping it down.

Heaven by Deborah Mitchell – Hydrogel Review

With over twenty five years experience as a hands on therapist Deborah Mitchell embarked on developing her own wonderful all-natural organic range of skin and body treatments. The result of which is Heaven, a vast range of super-effective, luxury skincare, which now retails in numerous countries as far flung as Dubai, and is popular with a great many celebrities.

Heaven brings together the potent power of nature with the latest breakthroughs in beauty technology. Contrary to most popular skin care programmes Heaven seeks not to add more oil, but to increase the moisture level of the skin, plumping out skin cells and brightening the complexion for a more youthful appearance. One such product which helps to boost hydration is the Hydrogel; a three in one product that tones, moisturisers and primes the skin ready to apply makeup.

Soul and Soap is a small company specialising in making handmade, natural bath and body products. Owned by Latvian-born Anna, she actually left her job in marketing to develop and sell her own luxury bathing products and the fledgling company was born. From the early days of selling in craft markets Soul and Soap’s web business soon began to take off and spurred on with a relocation to Cornwall Anna’s aim now is to grow her range and reach out to a wider marketplace. All Soul and Soap’s products are cruelty-free, contain only natural ingredients, and are entirely handmade with the utmost care and attention. I’m really honoured to showcase these beautiful products on my blog.

Dermatique Recuperating Cream

If you’re a regular visitor to my blog you may already have read about my daughter’s eczema-prone skin and my search to find a gentle, more natural alternative to the heavy, mineral-oil and steroid based creams prescribed by her GP. More often than not the creams she was given by the doctor excaberbated the problem due to her sensitivity to certain ingredients and it was a vicious, often upsetting, cycle of itch-scratch, itch-scratch until we finally discovered some relief when we took matters into our own hands and explored more natural-based skincare.

Since then I’ve always been happy to trial alternative products for eczema-prone skin so when Scottish skincare company Dermatique offered to send me their best-selling Recuperating Cream to review I was very keen, particularly when I read that the range was developed as a result of their own experience treating their daughter’s eczema.
