Lookfantastic now have a few months of beauty boxes under their belts but their momentum and impact on the subscription market shows no signs of slowing. In this busy marketplace where beauty boxes jostle shoulders for attention all the Lookfantastic boxes have stood out for their quality and product selection, and at £15 have always proved to offer tremendous value.
The March box is here, as usual arriving reliably within the first few days of the month, and yet again its contents are brilliant, with bodycare, skincare, makeup and haircare all packed into the sleek black box. Join me as I guide you through the contents of the Lookfantastic Beauty Box.
The first product out of the box is a deluxe sized Bliss Fatgirlslim (value £10.40). Utilising a unique delivery system called QuSome, this body cream targets problem areas, promising to tighten the skin and reduce dimpling. I’m often skeptical when it comes to creams that claim to reduce cellulite however I’ve read really good reviews about FatGirlSlim so i’ll happily reserve judgement. My thighs could definitely use some help so this generously sized sample is very welcome!
Next up with have a 15ml sample of Nuxe Detoxifying & Youth Revealing Anti-aging Care (value £14). This is a serum designed to use at night, that promises to smooth wrinkles and fine lines, as well as reviving dull complexions. I’ve enjoyed all the Nuxe skincare I’ve tried so far so the inclusion of this gets the massive thumbs-up from me.
Our third product is Cowshed Lippy Cow Natural Lip Balm (RRP £5) in a full size. This balm is packed full of natural ingredients including the divine essential oils of rose geranium and ylang ylang and it promises to restore moisture to dry, chapped lips. Always a sucker for lip balms as well as being a fan of Cowshed’s natural bodycare i’m really happy to have the opportunity to try this product.
Moving on we have another full size product; NUDESTIX Magnetic Eye Color (RRP £24). The NUDESTIX Magnetic Eye crayon is a multi-tasking shadow stick that can be used to highlight, line, or as an all-over colour. It is also waterproof and crease proof making it especially good for those with oily skins. I received the shade Gilt, which is a warm golden beige colour, and is the perfect shade for wearing both day and night. The easy to blend formula glides onto the lid without dragging and it takes moments to apply so is ideal for when time is limited. This is a brand that is completely new to me, as well as being a new addition to Lookfantastic’s offering, so it’s an exciting discovery and I can’t wait to experiment using it for different makeup looks.
The next item in the box is a mini-sized Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eye Pencil and Liner (value £10). The Lord & Berry pencil is a blendable, long-lasting, waterproof eyeliner and its creamy texture makes is very comfortable and easy to apply. I love black eyeliner but have recently been using liquid or pen liners rather than the traditional pencil as I like the very sharp, defined line you can create, however it will be nice to reacquaint myself with the eyeliner pencil and recreate the smoky eyed look I used to favour a few years ago.
The final product is one I’ve heard so many good things about. Move over Tangle Teezer, the Wet Brush (RRP £11.99) is the new kid on the block and has already taken the beauty industry by storm with its innovative technology that helps the brush detangle and smooth both wet and dry hair without damage. The rubber coating makes it super easy to handle and even when wet there’s little chance of losing grip. This is the Squirt, Wet Brush’s little sister, and its petite proportions mean that it will be perfect on my little one’s hair as well as my short bob.
Lookfantastic have curated another fabulous box and with contents worth in excess of £70 it is amazing value. As with the previous boxes there is a wonderful array of products from a wealth of quality brands and there is literally something for everyone here. For just £15 per month, inclusive of postage, the LookFantastic beauty box offers a great way to sample beauty products and discover new brands without breaking the bank or shelling out mega-bucks for a single product you may decide just wasn’t worth it.
If you like the look of this month’s line-up the March box is still available to buy and in addition to ordering the individual boxes you can now purchase a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription, making the boxes slightly cheaper.
