With Spring being almost with us I’ve noticed a lot of nail brands are unveiling pastel and candy-coloured ranges, and two collections that have particularly caught my eye in recent weeks are from Barry M and Zoya. Getting ready for a recent Blogger Meetup in Manchester I decided to take inspiration from these ranges and delved into my collection, digging out a gorgeous light blue Nails Inc polish.
Nails Inc Chelsea Physic Garden was actually part of the Spring / Summer 2013 Trend Shades collection, yet despite being released two years ago, this delightful aqua blue is still bang on trend. I love the pretty, fresh colour, which despite being bright and cheerful doesn’t look too brash.
This creme-gloss polish was easy to work with. It applies smoothly, is completely opaque in two coats and dries to a very high shine. I must say I was impressed as I haven’t always rated Nails Inc’s creme polishes, which I’ve often found to be streaky and need multiple coats. This was a definite exception, with application being quick and effortless.
Although I loved the high-gloss shine I decided to play around with my Nails Inc Matte Top Coat. I’ve only ever used this top coat with black, grays and other darker shades of polish, so I was curious to see if I liked the finish on a lighter polish. I’m happy to say I was very pleased with the result, which I’d describe as a satin finish.
It’s nice to finally put the deeper colours of Winter to one side and moving into Spring i’ll definitely be sporting more of these creamy pastel shades on my nails. They are so crisp and fresh, and make me look to the brighter, warmer season ahead.
