Heaven by Deborah Mitchell – Hydrogel Review

With over twenty five years experience as a hands on therapist Deborah Mitchell embarked on developing her own wonderful all-natural organic range of skin and body treatments. The result of which is Heaven, a vast range of super-effective, luxury skincare, which now retails in numerous countries as far flung as Dubai, and is popular with a great many celebrities.

Heaven brings together the potent power of nature with the latest breakthroughs in beauty technology. Contrary to most popular skin care programmes Heaven seeks not to add more oil, but to increase the moisture level of the skin, plumping out skin cells and brightening the complexion for a more youthful appearance. One such product which helps to boost hydration is the Hydrogel; a three in one product that tones, moisturisers and primes the skin ready to apply makeup.

Hydrogel has a unique texture quite unlike any other product I’ve used; a clear, lightweight gel it seems to transform on contact with the skin into a thin, watery fluid which rapidly skin in. Cooling, soothing and intensely moisturising it is most enjoyable to use and slot into any existing skincare routine. With three different formulations – Chamomile, Orange Flower, and Peppermint – there is a Hydrogel for each and every skincare need. Choose the one most suited to your skin-type or try all three and retate them as your skincare needs change, from season to season or week to week.

Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel (30ml, £19.50)* does exactly what it says on the tin, soothing the inflammation caused be a variety of skin complaints including acne, psoriasis or rosacea. It is also ideal for sensitive skins as it helps to reduce sensitivity. Organic Chamomile and Rose essential oils mix with organic Witch Hazel and Coconut to calm and deliver much needed nutrients and hydration to stressed out complexions. This has a delicate chamomile scent, perfect for soothing the senses as well as the skin.

Orange Flower Cell Renewal Hydrogel (30ml, £19.50)* is great for aging complexions as it promotes collagen production and boosts hydration, plumping out the skin and helping to smooth out fine lines. With skin-friendly extracts organic vegetable protein, Echinacea and Asparagus and the essential oil of organic Neroli, which lends a delicate scent of orange, this product really works like magic not only reinvigorating parched skin but soothing tired minds.

Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel (30ml, £19.50)*, with oils of Peppermint, Spearmint and Lavender is refreshing and calming, perfect for acne-prone skin. The cooling action of the mint in this lightweight gel soothes redness, balances oil and refines pores leaving the skin looking fresh and feeling clean and comfortable. The minty fragrance of this Hydrogel is subtle and fresh.

These products not only feel great on the skin but look good too. Sleek lines, an uncluttered design, and a nifty lid that when given a quarter turn reveals a pump action dispenser, all result in a product which shouts quality. Although the packaging is quite lightweight it still feels substantial and being plastic is perfect for throwing into your overnight bag for travelling. The only slight downside to the packaging is the fact that it’s quite hard to tell how much product is left.

I’m really impressed with these products; whilst fairly minimal in their ingredients list, what they do contain is necessary and effective and they really pack a punch. Their simplicity, light texture and multitasking formula lends themselves perfectly to a teenager just starting out with skincare, but are equally as wonderful for older complexions as they can be layered under other creams to boost moisture even further.
