It is not only Good Friday today but also a good Friday as my latest Lookfantastic beauty box unexpectedly landed (I didn’t expect my Hermes lady would be delivering today as it’s a Bank Holiday) and I got home from the church service to find my package waiting for me.
LookFantastic’s boxes have all be a hit with me so far; always containing a varied and exciting line-up of top-to-toe beauty treats, although this month I’d avoided any sneak peeks so I genuinely had no idea what products awaited me inside the slick, matte black box.
Join me as I eagerly delve beneath the tissue paper and reveal the contents of April’s box.
First out of the box is a generously proportioned travel size of Balance Me Revitalising Hand & Body Wash. (100ml, value £4) – This natural cleansing wash is packed with zesty and fresh ingredients such as mandarin, grapefruit, bergamot, sweet orange and mint. Its gentle formula cleanses without leaving skin feeling dry and the refreshing, zingy scent is uplifting and puts a spring in your step on days when you’re struggling to get going.
Next we have a 40g mini bar of Korres Milk Soap for Stressed Skin (RRP £1.70) – Small and perfectly formed this mini milk soap from Korres is ideal for popping into your bag when you travel. It produces an exceptionally mild, creamy lather that leaves a velvety feel on the skin and milk proteins contained in the formula help reduce inflammation and speed up skin recovery.
Moving on from skincare we now have some hair care in a travel sized version of TIGI Bed Head Manipulator (30g, RRP £4.99), a fibre forming cream that allows you to work your hair into any style you desire. This styling product has a delicious coconut fragrance and can be used on damp or dry hair to add texture and volume. I rarely use styling products like this anymore so I will probably pass this onto my husband to use when he has to travel with work.
The fourth item is a full size INIKA Certified Organic Eyeliner in Black Caviar (Full Size RRP £13.50) – INIKA is a luxury natural cosmetics brand, and all their products certified vegan and cruelty free. I’m really excited to try this as I’m really trying to include more natural brands into my beauty regime and I know that INIKA products are highly regarded. The eyeliner is made from natural plant ingredients and its texture is creamy and super easy to blend – I can truely see why this brand comes highly recommended.
The penultimate item is a 30 day supply of FORZA Multivitamin for Dieters (30-day course, RRP £7.49) – Each pill contains 13 different vitamins and minerals including Zinc, Vitamin K, C, B, D and Vitamin B12 and they’re specifically formulated for women on a low calorie diet. Not intended as a meal or food replacement, these tablets simply ensure you get an adequate supply of the vitamins and minerals that your body needs on a daily basis and that can sometimes be lacking in a calorie controlled diet.
Our final item is a 50ml mini bottle of CB12 Safe Breath Rinse Mild (50ml, RRP £3.50) – CB12 is a mouthwash made up of zinc acetate and chlorhexidine, which helps to neutralise the substances in your mouth that cause unpleasant breath, and it promises up to 12 hours of protection. Although this isn’t a particularly exciting item i’m looking forward to trying it as I find most mouthwashes are far too strong for me and burn my mouth. Being alcohol-free i’m hoping this will be ideal. It’s also a great size for travel.
I think this is a great box for me and it contains a good array of products, although I suspect some people will be a little disappointed to receive supplements and a mouthwash over more skincare or makeup. I for one however appreciate it when beauty boxes are mixed up a little and we receive products that aren’t what you’d typically expect. What do you think of the selection?
The April 2015 Beauty Box from Lookfantastic is on sale now. Priced at £15 inclusive of postage produce you can either buy the boxes individually or sign up for a 3, 6 or 12 month discounted plan to guarantee delivery at the beginning of each month.
