I haven’t had long hair in over 15 years, and each time I’ve attempted to grow my hair like the models in the L’Oreal commercial I’ve given up. My hair is currently jaw length, which as a busy mum I like most of the time, but still everytime I see that damn advert I want to be able to swoosh my hair like they do, exclaiming it’s “because I’m worth it”.
So, when I was approached to try a Hairaisers Live It Loud Volumising Hairpiece I was totally excited, although I have to admit I was a little dubious. I’m an absolute novice when it comes to styling my hair (if I manage to blow-dry it properly it’s an achievement), and I’ve never tried anything like the Hairaisers before. Would it look real? Would it be easy to wear? Would I be able to style it without it getting matted like my Girls World head I had in the 80s? I felt it was my duty as a blogger to step outside my comfort zone and answer these questions for my lovely readers.
The Live It Loud Curly Volumising Hair Piece in Hazelnut and Mocha Balayage Ombre (RRP £39.99)* can be worn as a hair piece or ponytail. Made with premium quality high-heat fibre the hairpiece is soft and natural to the touch, performing just like real human hair. At 250g it boasts being the fullest 3/4 hair piece in its class and is the perfect way to add length and volume at a fraction of the price of hair extensions. A durable lace cap prevents shredding and the high-heat fibre can be heat-styled up to 180 degrees so you can straighten, curl and style any way you want.
Much to my surprise after a little bit of practice I found the hairpiece easy to fit, with its comb at the front and back, and it felt comfortable and secure. Although it wasn’t a perfect match to my hair colour and despite my layers still being very short I managed to blend the hairpiece with my own hair and I was able to style it just as I would real hair. I really liked the versatility of the piece, and the way you can pin it up and style it just like you would your own hair and the quality of the weave and the hair fibres was impressive. I found the length of 22 inches a little bit longer than perhaps I would go for, but if you want instant glamour and a complete change this hair piece is a real head-turner and for less than £40 it’s a steal if you like to play around with different looks.
So from my initial misgivings i’m pleased to say I’m converted to hairpieces; it’s definitely an area of beauty that I’ll continue to explore and maybe add a few more pieces to my wardrobe!
