Driven by the motto “skincare that doesn’t cost the earth” Sukin is an eco-conscious, natural personal care company from Australia. With over 50 products in their comprehensive range including skincare, bodycare, hand care, and hair care, every product is carefully formulated using only the finest active botanicals and essential oils nature has to offer.
This affordable range is now available here in the UK from stockists including Feel Unique and Holland and Barratt and today I have the lovely Hydrating Body Lotion to review for my readers.
Sukin Hydrating Body Lotion (250ml, £10.19)* is enriched with aloe vera, shea butter nettle, horsetail and burdock which together with rosehip, avocado and jojoba oils really help to soothe, nourish and improve skin elasticity as well as lock in vital moisture.
The lotion has a lovely light, gel-cream like texture and the scent, which is both zesty thanks to the combination of Tangerine, Mandarin Orange, Lime and Grapefruit Seed Extract and sweet with Vanilla Planifolia Extract, is gorgeous.
I found a little of the lotion went a long way and it was rapidly absorbed meaning there was no waiting around after application to get dressed. Afterwards my skin felt beautifully soft and smooth with a hydration that lasted, yet left no trace of greasiness like some body creams can. I imagine this body lotion would be fantastic for use after sun exposure too as the Aloe Vera content meant it felt very soothing to apply and had a slightly cooling effect.
As with all Sukin products the body lotion is completely free from the myriad of harsh chemicals used in many products on the market today; excluding Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, synthetic fragrances, animal derivatives, harsh detergents, propylene glycol, artificial colours, triethanolamine, mineral oils, EDTA, and parabens.
Sukin is a 100% certified carbon neutral company, aiming to reduce the impact their business has on our increasingly fragile environment, and it has really impressed me with my first experience. I’d definitely be confident in trying more products from Sukin and will be keeping my eye out next time I’m perusing the shelves of my local Holland and Barrett.
