Packed with 200 active components including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, polysaccharides, and fatty acids, and with a water content of 99%, Aloe Vera truly is a gem of the plant kingdom and has long been recognised for its health and skincare benefits. Known for its healing properties, Aloe is great for applying topically to burns, abrasions, psoriasis and even insect bites. It acts as an analgesic, acting to help relieve pain of wounds and sunburn. Aloe also increases the elasticity of the skin making it more flexible through collagen and elastin repair, and as an emollient helps soothe and hydrate the skin, therefore it’s little wonder that this incredible plant has been harnessed by companies and is the base for many skincare products.
Passion For Natural is one such company that has recognised this amazing natural ingredient, producing their Aloe Vera range which is made from only the finest organic Aloe Barbadensis . Their lovely, eco-friendly products, which I was very lucky to try a handful of recently, combine the highest quality organic Aloe with a collection of other effective materials to create products that hydrate, soothe and repair, delivering the perfect skincare experience.
The hero product of the range has to be their Aloe Vera Gel (200ml, £6.95)*. A soft, hydrating gel, made with the 100% organic Aloe Vera and natural Betaine, this provides instant cooling relief to dry, irritated areas of skin. The gel is perfect for cooling sunburnt skin, soothing irritated and inflamed skin, as well as providing intensive hydration to dry, parched skin. The formula is fragrance free and with no artificial colours or preservatives is suitable even for sensitive skin. It is also non-tacky, leaving no oily residue on the skin, and is rapidly absorbed into the skin.
Aloe Gel is a fantastic all-rounder; it’s definitely one of those products that is a beauty cabinet must-have because it has so many uses and is suitable for all the family. If you store it in the fridge it also enhances the cooling effect of the gel; perfect on those hot summer days when you’ve perhaps had too much sun.
The next product I tried is the Aloe Vera Body Scrub (300ml, £10.95)*. With an impressive content of 83% Aloe Vera and containing natural walnut shell this lightly fragranced scrub hydrates the skin while gently buffing away dead skin cells. The easy to rinse formula leaves your skin silky soft and effectively hydrated but without the greasy residue some oil-based scrubs leave behind. I was worried this scrub may be too gentle but on the contrary I found it manages to find the perfect balance – neither being ineffective nor too scratchy – and it left my skin looking bright and feeling comfortable.
The third and final product I tried is the Aloe Vera Body Butter (250ml, £8.95)*. With 67% content of Aloe Vera, plus natural Betaine, organic Shea Butter and organic Cocoa Butter this is a lovely, rich body butter that again harnesses the amazing hydrating and renewing properties of Aloe Vera and ulitises them to provide long lasting hydration and protection for dry, parched skin. Although the formula is very rich this rubs in easily and is soon absorbed, leaving skin that feels and looks much softer and moisturised but without any annoying stickiness – I’m really impressed! Like all the products in the range the body butter is paraben and SLS free, and housed in lightweight, recyclable packaging.
Right now you can join in their special anniversary summer celebration over at Passion For Natural and enjoy all of their products (except the lip butter) for just £4 each. Such a great opportunity to try these great products for yourself and to stock up on your summer essentials!
