I can’t believe we’re halfway through June already, this year is whizzing by unbelievably fast! It also dawned on me that I hadn’t given you my usual run-down of empties so here goes, better late than never!
With the warmer weather approaching I’ve been prepping and preening and consequently I used up quite a few moisturisers in May. The first empty is the Mama Mio Tubby Rub Stretchmark Oil. I’ve loved this all-natural oil ever since discovering it during my pregnancy four years ago. I credit it with helping keep stretchmarks at bay and even now I still use it on my thighs to help keep my very dry skin nourished and comfortable. An oil like this will always have a place in my beauty routine.
Next we have Beauty Kitchen’s Inspire Me Body Souffle. This is a lovely, 100% natural body cream with the delicious, uplifting scent of zesty grapefruit. I reviewed this product as well as the unique Beauty Kitchen concept, which allows you to make your own beauty products, here. I love the mason jar packaging too which I’ll definitely repurpose!
The third use-up is FOM London Botanical Skin Balm. This body balm is ultra nourishing and has a gorgeous texture -I didn’t want to come to the end of my pot! Again this is 100% natural, and you can find my full review here.
Finally is a product from my travel bag; the Sanctuary Spa Body Lotion. Sanctuary Spa products have a lovely warming aroma which I particularly enjoy after a bath when I’m wrapped up in a snuggly, supersoft bath robe. The ginger in this lotion stimulates the circulation, lending the skin a healthy glow, and the light texture is really comfortable to apply.
Next up are my bath product use-ups, the first of which is the Goldwell Kerasilk Shampoo & Daily Intense Mask. I liked this duo although as it was in my travel bag I only used it every now and then. Despite that I was pretty impressed whenever I did use it, particularly the mask as it deepy nourished my hair without leaving it greasy like some masks.
Next is Rituals Serenity Hand Wash, a lovely hand wash scented with rose and almond oil, which leaves hands clean, soft and sweetly fragranced. This is definitely a girly scent so it probably would be more appropriate for a guest bathroom rather than for general family use and for that reason I probably wouldn’t buy this specific scent again.
The last product is the Joik White Chocolate Bath Melts which I reviewed in full here. Packed full of cocoa butter they were so nourishing and perfect for mine and my daughter’s very dry skin. A definite hit at bath time, even if they did leave my tub greasy afterwards!
Finally we have my skincare use-ups. Benton High Content Snail Essence is a bit of a cult product in Korean Beauty circles and I liked it a lot, although I wouldn’t call it a holy grail product. It’s great for oily, blemish prone skins and is very hydrating and soothing.
Next is a Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish sample from Birchbox. I wasn’t overly impressed with this product, it just didn’t wow me enough to make me purchase the full-size, which priced at £26 it really ought to.
Last but not least, as I believe beauty starts on the inside, is the Imedeen Derma One food supplement which was another Birchbox discovery. Containing Marine Complex, Vitamin C and Zinc these tablets claim to help improve the skin, and certainly during the 2 week course I noticed that my spots and blemishes cleared right up. Supplements are already something I like to add in to my diet to really boost my health and wellbeing so I’d consider purchasing these again at some point.
So there we have a mixed bag of use-ups, with some definite repurchases and some so-so products. Do let me know if you’ve tried any of the products included in my post and what you thought of them!
