Tanning with Sunkissed

Summer has been a bit of a let-down so far this year. So far since June began, apart from about 3 days of sunshine, it’s been dull, damp and cold here in Lancashire, more like the weather we get in March or April than mid-summer. Luckily I have an array of self-tanners to chose from to keep my skin looking bronzed for the time-being and today I’m exploring a purse-friendly duo from Sunkissed that promises to give you the perfect tan regardless of the weather.

Sunkissed Medium Bronze Instant Self Tanning Mousse (200ml, RRP £3.99) is an alcohol- and paraben-free self tanner which provides you with an instant glow that develops into a tan lasting up to 5 days. As well as providing an immediate tan the guide colour also shows you where you’ve applied it making it particularly fool proof. The mousse is light as a feather, quick drying and the coconut scented formula smells delicious. With the addition of Aloe Vera and glycerin the tanner is also moisturising and even without using a seperate moisturiser makes my normally dry legs feel smooth and hydrated all day long.

The colour that results from this tan is a lovely, very natural golden-brown (so natural in fact that i’ve been asked on more than one occasion if I’ve been on holiday), although I did notice that once the product had washed off, the tan that had developed was quite subtle and not as deep as I’d hoped it would be. I caught only the faintest whiff of that dreaded fake-tan smell after my sweaty gym session, which is pretty impressive.

To get the best result from your tanner the ideal companion is the Sunkissed Double-Sided Application Mitt (£4.99)*. Quick and easy to use, the new double-sided mitt makes tanning easier than ever before and with super-soft flock results in a fabulous streak-free tan, even when you’re in a rush. The mitt uses a patented barrier-proof technology which prevents product leakage on either side and the double-sided barrier means you don’t have to switch the mitt around when tanning your back, helping to speed up the tan application.

I always recommend using a tanning mitt to achieve a flawless finish and this one is especially plush. I love the fact it’s double-sided too as it means it doesn’t matter if the mitt twists around, you’re hands will still be protected from getting stained.

If you’re on a budget or you’re new to tanning and don’t want a result that is too dark or ‘fake’ looking this is the perfect duo, giving you an easy to achieve tan for less than £10! You can currently save 1/3rd on  Sunkissed Tanning Mousse at Superdrug making this tanner even more affordable!
