Selfridges Summer Beauty Box 2015

If there’s one thing Selfridges beauty department really knows it’s how to source the latest beauty must-haves and ensure their beauty hall is home to the best, most luxurious brands around. Therefore it’s not rocket science to assume that any beauty box baring the Selfridges name is going to be amazing.

When I heard the Selfridges Summer Beauty Box was returning and that it would be jam packed with several beauty essentials from an array of cult brands AND with a combined value of £176 for only £40, I didn’t hesitate to place an order. So now it has arrived let’s take a peek at the contents!

James Read Gradual Tan Day Face SPF15 (25ml, value £11) – Because the majority of my foundations have a minimum SPF of 15 my face never tans and stays pale regardless of the season. For this reason I really need a good face tanner, and this one by James Reed is perfect as it’s very gradual so no risk of me turning orange. I love the fact it also offers sun protection too.

Rodial Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel (15ml, value £19.75) – If there’s one area of my face I hate, it’s my chin that seems to act like a magnet to fat. I swear if I put as much as one pound on, it goes straight to my chin. I’m hoping this product by Rodial, which claims to define facial contours, will help firm and tone that most annoying of areas.

Starskin Second Skin Facial Mask (RRP £8.50) and Starskin Instaglam Foaming Peeling Perfection Puff (RRP £7.50) – Oh how I love my Asian beauty and here we have not only a fabulous sounding brightening sheet mask but also an exfoliating puff made in Korea for Swiss skincare brand Starskin. They both boast incredible botanical ingredients and I’m super excited to see them feature inside the box.

Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray (30ml, RRP £9) – Did I hear someone say Urban Decay? That alone is enough to get my attention, and I’ve heard good things about the setting spray. I’m really eager to try this product; if it can help my oily skin and stop my shine I’ll be impressed!

Caudalie Grape Water Facial Mist (75ml, RRP £10) – I love Caudalie skincare and what better than to include a facial mist which is an essential for the summer months to keep skin hydrated and cool.

Clarins Eau des Jardins Smoothing Body Cream (100ml, worth £14.50) – With dry skin I literally use up tonnes of body cream so this is a great addition to the box and being from Clarins i’m sure it will be fantastic.

Ribband Pastel Hair Ties (RRP £6) – My hair is just about long enough to tie back now so I’m looking forward to using these pretty pastel hair ties, which are supposed to be snag-free and cause less damage to the hair than traditional bobbles.

Tangle Teezer Original (RRP £11) – The Tangle Teezer was included in last summer’s Selfridges Beauty Box and it’s had plenty of use and starting to look a little tired, so this replacement is perfect and means I have an extra that I can keep in my handbag for travel. You can read my full review of Tangle Teezer here.

Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish in Chiltern Street (RRP £14) – I already have a few Gel Effect polishes from Nails Inc and I’m impressed by their high-shine formulation. This is a very pretty pastel pink and I think would be a lovely colour for any soon-to-be Brides or Bridesmaids.

NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss (4ml, worth £9.75) – Just when I thought the line-up was impressive enough Selfridges go and treat us to a mini lip gloss by NARS. This is a lovely colour and has a high-shine, non-sticky formula.

Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in Luster (RRP £18.50) – Another cult product is the Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in Luster, a very vibrant pink. Although it’s not a colour I’d pick ordinarily (it’s a little ‘in your face’ for me) I do think it could look very striking alongside very pared down makeup and hair, so I’ll definitely give it a try.

Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner (RRP £12) – I wasn’t too impressed with the Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner, which dried up very quickly in use, but I’ve heard better reports about its big sister – the Fat Eyeliner – so i’m keen to test it out.

The products are all tucked into a large, canvas bag emblazoned with a fun slogan. Designed and made by Alphabet Bag it is really good quality and on its own worth £20!

Amazingly, considering last years box sold out within 48 hours, this years box – which I actually think is better – is still available on the Selfridges website, so if you hurry you may just bag yourself one!

What do you think of the products and brands included in this year’s box?
