Living in a small town in East Lancashire I often feel, as a blogger especially, that it’s the back of beyond. Most of the large PR companies are based in London, as are the head offices of most well known brands, and consequently very few blogger events happen round here. Luckily the blogging community is amazing with many individuals who proactively go out to organise their own events and meet ups, and just two weekends ago I attended a brilliant event in Liverpool organised by two such bloggers Katie and Jenny.
The North West Bloggers Events group was set up to bring together Bloggers from the north-west of England for networking opportunities, and their latest event was held on 12th July at The Lime Kiln in Liverpool. There we enjoyed fun quizzes with prizes from Boden, Oh Deer, Fujifilm, ProBlow and Milton Lloyd, a talk on SEO by Lisa from Hollybobbs, and brand presentations by My Showcase, Motives Cosmetics and even the opportunity to get a Skinny Tan spray tan (I’ll write more about that experience in a seperate blog post)! We also enjoyed delicious macarons from The Little Macaron Shop and Thomas Tucker popcorn, as well as a fantastic buffet laid on by Wetherspoons.
As well as meeting other bloggers, we were all treated to a fabulous goodie bag; containing gifts supplied by LUSH Spa Liverpool, Colour Me, Playboy Cosmetics, Boden, Virtue Iced Tea, Thomas Tucker pop corn, Earthnicity Cosmetics, Mello Mallo, A Passion for Natural, Manuka Doctor, Crabtree & Evelyn, Greener Cleaner and Sweetheart Wax Melts by Kirsty.
The event was also supported by Sweet Cecily’s and My Showcase who very kindly gifted us with some beauty treats too!
One of the many highlights of the day was finally getting to meet Laura from Inside Laura’s Head (pictured with me below), who I’ve known via a Facebook beauty group for sometime.
This was an amazing event and really well organised – the pace was just right and I think everyone felt at ease – I can’t wait for the next! Massive thanks to Jenny, Katie and all the sponsors; hopefully I’ll see you soon!
