So Susan’s August LipLove bag is here and as usual tucked into the pretty canvas makeup bag is a host of gorgeous cosmetics for you to primp and preen to your heart’s content!
Emblazoned with a inspirational quote from Physicist Stephen Hawking;
“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up”
this month’s bag is all about being curious. So whilst you may not make any earth-shattering scientific discoveries like Professor Hawking you can still explore new realms, push the boundaries and reach for your dreams.
Along that theme So Susan’s monthly makeup subscription bag offers you a chance to try out new textures and colours, revamping your makeup routine and ensuring plenty of fun as you go. So what’s inside August’s LipLove?
First out of the bag is the beautiful Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigments in Fig Jam (RRP £17.95), a multi-purpose lip and cheek tint made with skin-friendly extracts of Pumpkin Seed Oil and Rhubarb. The formula is really moisturising and richly pigmented so a little goes a long way, and it smells amazing!
The second item is the So Susan Haute Light in Eggshell (RRP £14.95), a highlighter pencil infused with White Truffle extract and Eyeseryl peptide to help reduce eyebags and increase skin elasticity. Blended onto brow bones, cheek bones and used to disguise dark circles it instantly revives dull complexions, revealing a healthy radiance. This is the first of two highlighters in the box, but they are both quite different.
Next up is a second highlighter crayon; the So Susan Statement Skin in Candlelight (RRP £15), fortified with organic Chia Seed to help keep skin hydrated and Silk Peptide to promote skin suppleness and elasticity. Unlike the Haute Light this is a large crayon with a twist-up mechanism, and a unique chiselled head, which enables you to cover large areas of the face, or target small pinpoint ones. It has a lovely champagne-hued shimmer, and I can imagine this being quite versatile, not only for highlighting but also for use as a cream eyeshadow.
The final makeup item is the Goji Blush by Jelly Pong Pong (RRP £14.95) a moisturising blush formulated with a powerful blend of silicones, mineral and organic pigments for a silky application and a cream to powder finish. Infused with antioxidant-rich Goji Berry the formula also works to minimize fine lines.
My favourite item in this month’s bag is actually the bonus item. The So Susan Strengthening Cuticle Oils (RRP £20.95) is a set of five assorted oils that will keep your nail and cuticles hydrated and promote strong, healthy nail growth. From left to right we have Sea Algae for amazing hydration, Jasmine a natural antiseptic to heal chapped skin, Almond which is rich in Vitamins A, B and E to help soothe skin inflammation, Citron to strengthen and help reduce damage and Coconut to aid healthy nail growth. I’m never without a cuticle butter or oil applying them regularly throughout the day, and these are such a handy size. I also like the doe-foot applicator which I think is much easier than a brush.
Just when I was beginning to think the LipLove subscription couldn’t surprise me anymore they’ve really pulled a stonker out of the bag (no pun intended) with a whopping value in excess of £80. I especially love the hot-pink Paradise Pigment and the cute, rainbow coloured cuticles oils, which are the perfect size to tuck into my purse.
With 100% cruelty-free formulas that exclude nasties such as Parabens, mineral oils and phthalates So Susan ensures you can enjoy the latest, trend-lead makeup without compromising on ethics or the health of your skin.
Priced at £14.95 including postage the August LipLove Bag is available now at So Susan.
