A couple of weeks ago I blogged about my first ever experience of Max Factor makeup, a brand I had always overlooked in the past but one that definitely impressed with their Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipsticks. Today i’m back with another product of theirs; the Max Factor Smokey Eye Drama Kits.
The Max Factor Smokey Eye Drama Kit (RRP £8.99)* is an indispensable eyeshadow quad that gives you the complete look in just the one palette. With the four complementary shades, this little palette is incredibly versatile, allowing to combine the colours as you wish and taking you from day to night.
There are 6 different eyeshadow quads in the range, each one designed to suit a particular eye colour:
Lavish Onyx – a great all-rounder, perfect for every eye colour
Azure Allure – to intensify blue eyes
Sumptuous Golds and Opulent Nudes – bring luminosity and warmth to brown eyes
Magnetic Jades – accentuates hazel eyes
Luxe Lilacs – beautifully contrasts green eyes
So often highstreet brands can disappoint with poor pigmentation that looks chalky or patchy, however the colour payoff of these Max Factor eyeshadows is amazing. The formula is incredibly silky, applying smoothly without dragging the eyelids, and it blends effortlessly. The shimmery shades have a gorgeous metallic sheen which is very grown up; imagine finely milled mica rather than those annoying chunks of glitter that fall out onto your lower lids and cheeks!
If I had one complaint it would be that I’d love to see a little mirror in the lid to make it easier to freshen up your makeup when you’re out and about, but other than that minor oversight the quality and value is fantastic. These are beautiful eyeshadow palettes, not only to look at but also to use, and they’ve already become firm favourites in my makeup kit!
You can shop for Max Factor at Boots and Superdrug stores nationwide.
