My September LipLove Bag from So Susan has arrived and this month’s theme is ‘New Beginnings’. The pretty canvas bag features a quote from Paulo Coelho inspiring us to take a leap of faith, say goodbye to the old and start anew, and tucked inside, as usual, are four makeup items plus a bonus accessory.
First out of the bag is the So Susan LipoPout in Paris (RRP £12.95). I was so excited to receive my first lipstick from So Susan and this is a brand new launch. However despite its lovely, creamy texture and great longevity I was disappointed that they didn’t send out a more wearable shade. The peachy nude shade of the lipstick is a little like wearing concealer on the lips and I think it’s a colour very few people can pull off. I would definitely like to try this in a different colour however as the formula is great.
The second product in this month’s bag is Trifle Cosmetics Royal Icing (RRP £13.95), a loose, iridescent powder that lends the complexion a healthy radiance. The formula is infused with skin-friendly Jojoba and Apricot oils, designed to keep skin hydrated, and the texture is so light and very finely milled.
The third item in this month’s bag is the So Susan Featherlash Mascara (RRP £17.95) which claims to delivers volume, length and long-lasting wear. The formula boasts Silk Amino Acids and Moringa Seed Extract to help condition lashes and is water-resistant, ensuring beautiful lashes that go the distance. The wand is generously packed with bristles and the formula, while quite thin, coats each lash effortlessly without clumping. I felt the mascara added more length than volume, but the overall look was very pretty, well defined lashes.
The final item is Jelly Pong Pong Caribbean Sun in Bahamas (RRP £15.95). Infused with Argan oil and Mango Butter this fragrance-free blush and bronzer duo gives you a radiant, sun-kissed complexion. The powder is nicely pigmented and applies very smoothly, blending well. Overall this is a great two in one product.
The bonus item in this month’s line-up is the Unmask Ring.
Despite the lipstick colour not really being to my taste this is still a great bag from So Susan, with the highlight for me being the Royal Icing, a product that gives the skin such a beautiful yet subtle glow. As always the LipLove bag offers up an array of pretty cosmetics that also pack a punch formula-wise. Add to that the cruelty-free, no nasties ethos of So Susan and you have the perfect package for discerning makeup fans everywhere; all for just £14.95 per month!
