Taking out the recycle bin yesterday I realised I’d not posted my September empties, so here is a quick run down on the products I used up last month, along with my thoughts on them.
One brand that has featured quite regularly in my empties posts is Mio Skincare. I just love their ethos and hardworking, effective products, and the Quickstart Shower Gel is no exception. It really does help kickstart my day, enlivening my senses with its minty-fresh aroma, as well as gently cleansing my skin. This product is definitely on my repurchase list.
A product I quite liked, but not enough to repurchase however is the Garnier Ultimate Blends Colour Illuminator shampoo and conditioner. Although they were nice enough I’ve decided to switch to sulphate-free shampoos for the time being which rules these out. If you don’t mind sulphates however then Garnier Ultimate Blends are pretty good and really great value.
I love my oils and moving on are two oil based bath products which I’ve absolutely loved using this month. The L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil is such a deliciously scented shower oil which onces mixed with water transforms into a light milky lather, gently cleaning and nourishing the skin. I couldn’t get enough of its indulgent formula. Along a similar vein is the Aromatherapy Associates Inner Strength Bath and Shower Oil which turned my bathroom into a decadent sanctuary in which to relax and recharge. I will certainly grap the full size of this bath oil at some point!
As part of my bath time ritual I enjoy a good body scrub and the Caudalie Divine Scrub really delivered. The brown sugar and oil rich formula melted onto the skin delivering hydration and nourishment, as well as exfoliating well. Combined with a heady scent this really made me feel pampered from head to toe.
Other product use-ups this month included a Naked Bodycare Gentle Body Wash, which is actually a product I used for my daughter (the brand sadly is no more), a Clinique Deep Comfort Body Wash from my travel bag, and a Rituals Rice Milk and Cherry Blossom Hand Wash.
I also used up a handful of skincare samples and sheet masks this month, including a couple of masks from the Mask Maven subscription bag. As we head into winter I’m sure I’ll use more sheet masks as they really are a fantastic way to combat the drying effects of central heating and harsh winds.
So those were my use-ups and I must say I was very sorry to see some of them go, especially the Mio Quickstart Shower Gel and the L’Occitane Shower Oil which when used formed the perfect start and end to my day. I’m sure I’ll be purchasing both of them in the future!
If you’ve used any of the products I have I’d love for you to share your thoughts. Did you love or loathe them? Let me know by leaving a comment!
