Lookfantastic‘s November Beauty Box arrived on my doorstep today, once again sporting a glitzy new festive look. At £15 the Lookfantastic Beauty Box consistantly represents great value for money, even if the contents haven’t always sent my pulse racing. So what is inside this month’s box and does it get my thumbs up? Let’s find out!
First up is a product I’ve been desperate to try since it launched. The Dr. PawPaw Tinted Ultimate Red Balm (full size RRP £6.95) shares the same Aloe, Olive oil and Paw Paw infused formula as the original balm, but with a red tint also gives lips a flush of sheer colour. The 10ml sample size we get here, worth around £2.70, is a great size for popping in your handbag and keeping lips hydrated!
For me an essential makeup item for the party season is the classic red lipstick and Lookfantastic have delivered just that with a full size Bellápierre Cosmetics Lipstick in Ruby (RRP £11.99). This vivid lipstick has a creamy, highly pigmented formulation that is easy to apply and leaves a satin finish. The only slight complaint I have is the packaging, which isn’t as nice as the Bellapierre lipsticks I already own, but nonetheless it is a gorgeous shade and is definitely one of the highlights of the November box!
Next is a 40ml travel sized Korres Guava Shower Gel (full size RRP £8), a fresh scented body wash, that excludes parabens, and mineral oils and is 91.4% natural. We have had Korres products before and I’ve always found them to be good so this is a welcome return of the brand.
Moving on we have two skincare items, the first of which a 30ml travel sized Ole Henriksen Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser (full size RRP £20). Ole Henriksen’s skincare has featured in a couple of previous Lookfantastic boxes and I’ve loved what I’ve tried so far. I’m intregued by this cleanser as I don’t usually like the consistancy of milky cleansers, preferring to reach instead for a foaming one, yet this one sounds like a combination of the two. Containing arctic cloudberry, nordic cotton and willow bark it is said to boost skin’s radiance and gently cleanse without causing dryness.
The second skincare offering is a 15ml sample of Ren V-Cense Youth Vitality Day Cream (full size RRP £28). This day cream is targeted at mature skin types, to hydrate, nourish and visibly reduce wrinkles. If you’re lucky enough to have escaped the ravages of aging however, but have dry skin that would benefit from a richer moisturiser, then this would be perfect too.
The final product is a 30ml sample of the Kebelo Enriching Mask (full size RRP £10.35) fortified with grapeseed, bran and argan oil. Lookfantastic featured the Clarifying Shampoo from this brand earlier on in the year, and I wasn’t overly impressed by the formula, however I won’t write off an entire brand based on one experience, and as my hair seems to be crying out for a moisture boost I’m hoping this performs where the shampoo didn’t!
Overall I’m happy with November’s box. There is a great range of products, covering the whole spectrum of beauty, and everything is usable. One thing I will say however, as someone who has been with Lookfantastic from the beginning, is that the brands are a little repetitive and I would really love to see some of the other brands from Lookfantastic’s massive beauty offering making an appearance in the box.
The Lookfantastic Beauty Box costs just £15 per month, inclusive of postage, or you can sign up to a 3, 6 or 12 month discounted subscription. What do you think about this month’s selection? Will you be making a purchase?
