I returned home today to find my November Birchbox waiting for me. As I revealed in my Spoiler last week this month’s box is a collaboration with accessory designer Skinnydip and to celebrate the partnership subscribers receive one of two specially designed boxes and a £10 Skinnydip voucher, alongside the usual handpicked selection of beauty treats.
So what goodies are inside my box this month?
First up is a 10ml sample of REN Wake Wonderful Night Time Facial (full size RRP £32), a night treatment featuring Glycolic and Lactic Acids which work to stimulate cell renewal and turnover. A slight tingling sensation may be felt upon application, a sign that the active ingredients are working their magic, but you will awaken to fresher skin.
Next is a 15ml sample of Delarom Creme Acquacomfort (full size RRP £34), a rejuvenating cream packed full of nourishing Vitamin E and almond and apricot oils. This gentle cream gives tired, lacklustre complexions a real boost of moisture and radiance – just what the Doctor ordered at this time of year!
Thirdly we have a 30ml travel sized Beauty Protector Beauty Cream Body Lotion (full size RRP £8). This is a deliciously scented lotion that provides dry skin with veil of longlasting moisture.
Moving on is a trio of makeup products, the first of which is a full size So Susan Featherlash Mascara (RRP £18). A carbon black mascara which helps create length, curl and volume. I’ve tried this product before and found it created good definition and length, but delivered less on thickness, still it performed solidly enough.
We then have a 0.5g mini version of Lord & Berry Silhouette Neutral Lip Liner (full size RRP £9). At first I did a double take, thinking this was a white eyeliner but I realised it’s a translucent lip liner designed to be worn with any colour of lipstick to prevent bleeding – genius! Who needs a dozen shades of liner when you can get away with one? I’m excited to try this, especially as I’ve started wearing more lipsticks and realised I only owned beige lip liner!
The final product is a set of Thumbs Up Rosa Nail Wraps (RRP £6.99). I must say i’ve never really got on with nail wraps, finding them too much of a faff, however these are a pretty design, so I’ll maybe hang onto them and use them next summer (I think they’re more befitting of a Summer look, rather than Autumn).
So that was my November Birchbox and I must say on first glance I wasn’t enamoured by the contents, but having had a better look there are some gems in there – my favourite products being the REN and Delarom – and a decent mix of items. I do think the box feels a little out of place for the season, the box and contents being more apt for summer, and so i’m really hoping that Birchbox step up the glitz and glam for their December box and the forthcoming party season!
A subscription to Birchbox costs just £12.95 per month including postage, and if you use my referral link we both get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you!
If you’re a subscriber I’d love to hear your thoughts on this month’s box. Did you get anything different to me?
