Birchbox – December 2015 Review

Fresh off the back of my Birchbox Spoiler comes my actual ‘All That Glimmers’ December Birchbox, which arrived this morning to much excitement.

I was hoping the December line-up would deliver some much needed glitz and glam and indeed it has; along with some post-party recovery treatments. So let’s take a peek inside.

First up we have the ultimate duo for glamming it up this party season. The full size ModelCo Ultra Long-lasting Lipstick in Smitten (RRP £15.50 for 3) is a vampy red coloured lipstick with a creamy formula, that promises a highly pigmented, semi-matte finish that will go the distance with minimal touch-ups required. Along with a Ciate Mini Paint Pot in All Aglow (full size RRP £9) featuring gold and bronze glitter this is the perfect pairing to add sparkle and style this party season.

Next up we have an exclusive Benefit Ultimate Party Kit which features duluxe samples of They’re Real Push-up Liner and Puff Off eye cream to really give your eyes a treat both pre and post party.

Another beauty essential this month is a 7ml sample of the Balance Me Congested Skin Serum (full size RRP £16). This lightweight, cooling serum features chamomile, aloe vera and lavender and is designed to help prevent breakouts as well as soothe any spots you do get. Simply dab on existing spots to calm redness and inflammation or use as a preventative treatment.

The final two products are another pair of skincare saviours perfect for the morning after the night before. Firstly let the fresh and zingy scent of the gorgeous Skin & Co Sicilian Body Gel (full size RRP £16) wash away grime along with your dull head, leaving you feeling refreshed and more human. Finally use your sachet of Roloxin Lift Instant Skin Smoothing Masque (full size RRP £79) to give your lacklustre complexion a pick me up, boosting the skin’s radiance and smoothing away wrinkles and open pores.

All these beauty goodies are tucked into a really generously proportioned Birchbox clutch bag, the perfect accessory to jazz up your little black dress!

This is a fabulous line-up of beauty products and everything Birchbox has chosen to feature is appropriate for the time of year. It really is the ultimate for prepping your skin and making-up for all those Christmas parties and New Year celebrations! I really cannot fault it one bit!

If you’re tempted to treat yourself or a loved one to a Birchbox subscription this festive season you can sign up for just £12.95 per month and if you use my referral link you also get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you!

If you’re already a Birchbox subscriber I’d love to hear what you got in your Birchbag and what you thought of the selection!

It’s a great bag (box) this month. Mine arrived so speedy this month and I am very pleased with the contents. Very similar items except I had an Elmis day cream (instead of the congested serum, which I have had previously and really enjoyed using). My nail varnish is a silvery-sparkly blue. I have been subscribing for a while now but overall I remain really pleased with the BirchBox – their samples are not always as big as some of the other boxes (I love my Glossy Box) but I have not yet had a repeat item. I have been lucky 😀 Reviewing the items is a great way to build up points and I have made many purchases through the website by discovering them through my Birchbox. Hope everyone else is as pleased with their box as I am this month 😀

Your selection sounds great too! And I agree about the overall experience – yes the samples are mostly small but generally they’re from great brands or are new discoveries which I like, and the points system is fab. I also love how the boxes are beautifully themed; it really does feel like time & care has been taken over each thing.

They do repeat products in boxes but should only send them to subscribers who didn’t get them before. I don’t think I’ve had the Balance Me serum previously. X
