December’s So Susan LipLove bag is here. This month’s theme is ‘I Love Peace & Joy’ and as usual the pretty little canvas makeup bag is emblazoned with a fitting quote – this month from Lao Tzulip;
“Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”
The month of December is all about being surrounded by family and friends, looking back upon the year that has passed and planning for the year to come, so let’s enjoy the last two weeks of 2015 and enjoy delving into the contents of this month’s LipLove bag!
First up is a Lip Parfait by Trifle Cosmetics in Racoon (RRP £12.95); a vivid raspberry pink lipstick with great coverage and a wonderfully hydrating finish. This gives the perfect flush of colour to any makeup look, whether it’s full on evening glam or a pared down ‘day at the office’ look.
Next up we have the star product in this month’s bag; the Luminous High-Coverage Foundation SPF15 in Warm Marble (RRP £16.95). This is a high coverage yet lightweight liquid foundation offering SPF15 and fortified with Soybean protein, Rosehip oil and Calendula flower extract. Unfortunately it is only offered in the one shade so some subscribers will be left disappointed, but for my skin tone it is a pretty decent match and it also feels great on the skin, leaving it radient and with a slightly dewy but non-greasy finish.
Moving on we have Lychee Gel Softening Bath and Shower Gel by Jelly Pong Pong (RRP £12.95); a beautifully fragranced, paraben free shower gel that will go well with the little body lotion we recieved in last month’s bag. As they’re only sample sized I’ll be popping them both in my travel bag.
The final item is the So Susan Dual Brow Powder (RRP £11.95), a product I’ve used and been impressed with before. Infused with skin-softening carrot seed extract and aloe vera the powder is soft and highly pigmented. Having two shades means you can combine them to achieve the perfect colour match, making perfecting those brows a doddle!
All the cosmetics included in this monthly makeup subscription are 100% cruelty-free, with neither the products nor their ingredients being tested on animals, and at £14.95 it really is a great value subscription.
Although this month’s LipLove is lovely it really is missing the sparkle I expected of a December bag and it feels like it has ended the year with more of a fizz than a bang. I think a glitzy accessory would have gone a long way to inject a little bit of party glam into the line-up. Nevertheless I’m very pleased with the foundation and of course excited to wear the lipstick to my next party! Do you subscribe to LipLove? If so i’d love to hear what you think to the selection this month.
