Natural skincare is something I love to feature, why bother with unnecessary artificial additives when the natural ingredients can do just as good a job? So when I was approached to try some skincare from new British brand Dominae I was very excited.
Launched in late 2015 Dominae is one of the latest in a long line of cosmetics companies that are turning their backs on harsh chemicals and unnecessary fillers, promising a more natural approach to skincare. The 100% natural, paraben-free formulations contain many organic ingredients and are never tested on animals – fantastic if your New Years Resolution is to switch to natural beauty products!
The products I was sent to trial are the Dominae Facial Serum (30ml, RRP £14.99)* and Dominae Eye Cream (15ml, RRP £13.99)* both of which are said to target the signs of aging with essential ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C, as well as soothing botanical extracts including avocado, green tea and aloe, and emollient rich botanicals of coconut, argan, rosehip and apricot kernal oils, to name just a few.
The Facial Serum has a lightweight gel consistency which is intensely hydrating yet non-greasy. Its key ingredient, Hyaluronic Acid, is naturally found in the body and through its ability to hold 1000 times its weight in water, provides superior hydration to the skin leaving it feeling plump and toned. Together with Vitamin C, an antioxidant that slows down the rate of free radical damage and helps boost collagen production, you will really notice a brighter, more youthful complexion.
Next up is the Eye Cream. With Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Arnica Oil and Palmitoyl Peptide Complex this anti-aging formula is also incredibly soothing, helping to reduce dark circles and puffiness as well as deminishing fine lines. The addition of SPF 25 also provides vital protection against sun damage. The formula, which is slightly richer than the serum, is very hydrating and you need use only a little meaning the tube should last months and months.
The packaging of the products is sleek and professional, with pumps that dispense the products hygienically, and the products definitely lived up to my expectations, leaving my skin hydrated, comfortable and healthy. The only slight downside for me was the fact that the products both had quite a noticable floral fragrance which whilst not unpleasant to me was a little stronger than I’d like and this could prove a deal breaker for some. I also think a more neutral fragrance could help the range appeal to the male market too. That said however the scent at least is natural and derives from natural oils and extracts, rather than being synthetic.
If you are looking to transform your skincare routine in 2016 and start using natural products these two products from Dominae would be a great starting point and I’d definitely recommend giving them a try. You can shop for Dominae skincare on Amazon UK.
