When you think of Korean skincare one brand that will spring immediately to mind is Skinfood. With their appealing packaging and a wide variety of products that are pretty consistant in terms of quality and value, it’s little wonder this brand has made waves outside of its home county. Consequently I was so excited when a few months back Beauteque released a Skinfood bag as part of their ‘Head To Toe’ series and I had to grab one.
The Skinfood Head To Toe bag retailed at $25 plus shipping and contained six products from this well established Korean skincare brand. So let’s delve inside and take a look at the contents!
First out the bag is the Skinfood Glacier Water Gel Mask and Deep Sea Water Gel Mask (RRP $3 each). I’m always pleased to see sheet masks as I like using them and enjoy the results that I get from them. The Glacier Water mask is designed to soothe and tone irritated skin, and the Deep Sea Water Mask is used for clarifying and brightening. I’m looking forward to seeing if these compare to other sheet masks I’ve tried.
Next we have a pack of Skinfood Watermelon Embossing Cleansing Tissues (RRP $21). Facial wipes are not something I use regularly, nor do I advocate their use on a daily basis, but for an emergency cleanse they’re perfect to have in stock. With a pH of around 6 these are very gentle and skin-friendly, and I love the textured finish of the cloths which really aids makeup removal. They also have a fresh watermelon scent which is refreshing and soothing to the senses. All in all, as far as cleansing wipes go these are really quite nice and provide the skin with a decent cleanse.
Moving on is a very interesting product in the shape of the Skinfood Nail Vita Pineapple Cuticle Cleaner (RRP $8). This product contains pineapple extract which naturally helps to dissolve and remove dead skin cells from around the nail. This is a much more gentle way of remove rough skin and ragged cuticles and will really give your manicures that professional feel.
The next item is the Skinfood My Short Cake Setting Mascara (RRP $11). This mascara has quite a thin consistency which doesn’t really add much volume to the lashes, however it does help give length and definition. It has impressive staying power and if you’re wanting to achieve quite a natural look this is a pretty solid mascara to try.
The final product is the Skinfood Grape Seed Oil Wrinkle Neck Cream (RRP $10), which I’m really pleased to find as I love targeted creams. The neck and decolletage is an area that women often neglect but I always make sure I take care of it and this cream sounds perfect with its combination of adenosine and grape seed oil, which helps smooth and prevent wrinkles whilst providing essential moisture.
As an introduction to Skinfood this is a great bag with a fantastic mix of products and a decent value of approximately $46. Containing beauty essentials such as mascara and cleansing tissues, more unusual items including the Cuticle Gel and Neck Cream, and Korean skincare must-haves in the form of sheet masks I’m very happy with my $25 bag!
