Lush Valentine’s and Mother’s Day 2016

I’ve been meaning to pop into Lush ever since the Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day ranges lauched but as ‘popping’ actually means a half hour drive down the M66 to Bury that trip only happened this weekend. This means I’m late to the party but finally I’ve checked out the range and picked up goodies from both ranges plus a couple of items that have been on my wishlist for a while.

A new launch for Mother’s Day 2016 is the Ladybird Bubble Bar (£3.95). This cute little critter fills the bath tub with lashings of sweet scented bubbles. Featuring geranium oil to aid relaxation and a little peppermint oil which lends a subtle menthol note, this bubble bar will help revive and uplift mind and body as you soak. This for me is a highlight because it really stands out on display and shouts “buy me”!

Another new creation the Rose Bombshell (£3.95) is a stunning bath bomb featuring a floral triplet of yellow rose petals, rose absolute and rose oil. As it fizzes, the outer shell breaks away releasing a cascade of petals burst and the sweet scent of Sicilian lemon and geranium oils – making the perfect elixir for unwinding.

If you love a cuppa you’ll love this next product. Making its debut in 2016 is the unique Flowering Tea Bubble Bar (£4.95), which turns your bath into a special floral brew. Featuring uplifting neroli, rich rosewood oil and sunny orange flower absolute this is the ultimate blend for relaxation this Mother’s Day!

Moving on to Valentine’s Day we have the Lover Lamp Bath Bomb (£3.95). This bath bomb may look understated but the skin softening Fair Trade organic cocoa butter really packs in the moisture and chocolate orange scent of the Fair Trade vanilla absolute and Brazilian orange oil really is heavenly.

The next item I picked is the beautifully lustrous Unicorn Bubble Bar (£4.25); with its blend of lavender and neroli oil it is simply divine. An oldie but a goodie, this bubble bar regularly reappears for Valentine’s Day and unsurprisingly it is hugely popular.

This next product is one of Lush’s regular lines, but nevertheless it lends itself so well to Valentine’s Day that I had to include it. The Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb (£3.50) is based on a medieval love potion. Studded with seven real rosebuds, it is scented with a mesmerising combination of floral orris root powder, rose, jasmine, geranium and lemon which help soothe and lift the spirits of even the hardest of hearts.

The next new product to catch my eye was the Milky Bath Bubble Bar (£3.75). This comforting little milk bottle bubble bar is formulated with uplifting orange oil, skimmed milk and cocoa butter, and crumbled under running water fills your bath with skin softening bubbles. This is perfect for dry, sensitive skins.

The Karma Bubble Bar (£4.25) has been on my wishlist for a while so naturally one of these found its way into my basket. Fragranced with Lush’s best-selling signature exotic orange and patchouli scent this bubble bar smells and looks amazing. With sweet orange oil, refreshing and zesty lemongrass oil, relaxing Lavandin, fresh Pine oil and elemi oil, which is traditionally used in incense recipes, this gorgeous bubble bar reminds me of walking into a Moroccan Souk and being hit by the wonderful exotic aromas.

Another product that lends itself to Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day is the Rose Jam Bubbleroon (£3.75). Lemon, rose absolut and rose and geranium oil give this bubble bar its amazing scent, while Fair Trade cocoa and shea butter leave your skin feeling fabulous. Forget flowers, I’d much rather a bunch of these beauties!

Finally I couldn’t resist the very brightly coloured Big Bang Bubble Bar (£3.75) with softening avocado butter, zesty grapefruit oil and refreshing lemon myrtle oil. If you like big and bold this definitely fits the bill!

So those are my picks from Lush’s fantastic seasonal ranges, plus a handful of their regular products. As usual there are some beautiful new creations although dare I say it but the ranges didn’t grab me as much as last years and I can’t help but feel that the ranges are a little bit more subdued than in 2015.
