Birchbox – February 2016 Review

Fresh on the heels of the Lookfantastic Beauty Box my February Birchbox has landed, and is it me or has it arrived super early this month?

This month’s theme is Shine Bright Like A Diamond and tucked inside the gorgeous box are 6 beauty treats guaranteed to bring a bit spark back into your beauty regime, two of which are full sizes! So without further ado let’s take a peek inside.

First up is the oh so pretty Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush (RRP £7.99) that every subscriber will recieve this month. I’ve been lusting after these gorgeous makeup brushes for ages, and finally I have my paws on one; I’m ecstatic. The mermaid-like colours of this brush are just as stunning in real life and the bristles are super soft!

Another full size product Birchbox are treating everyone to is the LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in Champagne Moments (RRP £8). This is Birchbox’s brand new, own brand makeup line so it’s an exciting new discovery. The eyeshadow stick is so handy, delivering creamy, longlasting waterproof colour in just a couple of strokes, and the colour is very pretty too.

Next I have a sample sized version of TheBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Blush (full size RRP £15.50). At first glance this sample seems small but the pigmentation packs a punch and provides a lovely flush of colour. It’s very handy for tucking inside your handbag.

Moving on from makeup we have some skincare, with a 16g sample of Korres Milk Proteins 3 in One Cleanser (full size RRP £15). I’ve never really enjoyed cleansing milks in the past, but as a fan of Korres I’m prepared to see if this one can convert me.

Another skincare offering in this month’s box is a 3.5ml sample of Bionike Defence Xage Lifting Remodelling Balm (full size RRP £27). This moisturiser claims to boost the collagen and elastin levels in your skin, helping to plump out fine lines and firm the skin. The result is a brighter, more youthful complexion – yes please!

Finally I have a 30ml mini of Ayres Body Butter in Patagonia (full size RRP £19.50). This plant-based body butter feels so rich and nourishing, and the scent of jasmine, lavender and ylang-ylang is divine. Using it feels like having a luxury spa treatment in the comfort of your own home so I can definitely see me purchasing the full sized product!

This month’s box really has impressed. The choice of brands and products is great, with something for everyone, and I particularly love how four out of the six brands are completely new discoveries for me. True to the theme’s name it really is a dazzling line-up!

You can sign up to recieve your very own Birchbox for just £12.95 per month and if you use my referral link you also get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you. Using the code HAPPYDAYS will also get you £5 off your first box! Interesting to see what the other variants of this month’s box were! I got the frat boy blusher too, no idea how to get enough of that pigment on my brush though, it’s tiny!
