Browsing my shelves of TK Maxx recently I spied a cleanser from brand I’d been eager to try for a while so naturally I snapped it up. Patyka is a French skincare brand that specialises in producing luxurious, natural products; with sublime textured formulas packaged into elegant packaging if ever there was a brand that epitomises the phrase ‘Eco-chic’ it has to be Patyka.
Back in November last year in a change to my usual posts I wrote about the cuts Lancashire County Council were making to their Cultural Services budget. As part of these cuts five museums in Burnley, Rossendale, Lancaster, Preston and Fleetwood were to completely lose their funding and close at the end of March unless alternative finding was found. Sadly the severe cuts went ahead despite much campaigning, but just over a week ago it was announced that the museums have been given a temporary reprieve until September.
My empties posts have been sidelined recently so before the end of the month I thought I should catch up and do a quick run-down of my January and February use-ups! There is a real mixed bag here with lots of skin and body care, alongside some supplements that I also deem to be essential for a healthy body and skin, so let’s take a look.
My March So Susan LipLove Bag arrived a week or so a go, but being quite busy over the last week it’s only now I’ve had chance to sit down and really take in the contents from this delightful makeup subscripton.
This month’s theme is “I love spreading kindness” and the canvas bag is printed with a lovely design and quote from Vincent Van Gogh;
“Whoever loves much, performs much and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well”
Nestled inside this gorgeous bag is a selection of four skin friendly, cruelty-free makeup treats, so let’s take a closer look!
This year I decided to give up alcohol for Lent and evenings have been decidedly boring without the odd beer or glass of wine. I’m not a huge fan of fizzy or sugary drinks and there’s a limit to the amount of herbal tea I can drink, so I’ve been searching for interesting and preferably healthy alternatives to keep me going through the drought!
When I was sent a trio of Jools Drinks* to sample they were very welcome indeed. They definitely sounded like drinks I would enjoy both at home or at the gym and with a unique formula that makes them much more interesting and exciting than any other soft drink I’ve seen before I was really looking forward to trying them.
Most people begin blogging simply because they want to write or have a creative outlet and the idea that they may get a few readers is really an afterthought. After a while however you may decide you want to reach out to more people, connect with brands, or even monetize your blog, and that is where figures become more important. Until now your biggest decision was your blog name, but now you may be asking “how can I grow my following further?” and that is the subject I’ll be looking at today in my third installment of my #BloggingSOS series.
I often say there is more to skincare than simply which lotions you slap onto your face. You can spend hundreds of pounds on the latest creams but if you neglect to eat a balanced diet or drink enough water that bright, youthful complexion isn’t going to happen. Not to mention the fact that even with the healthiest of diets as we age the body’s production of Collagen slows down, leading to the telltale signs of aging. Whilst you can’t stop the inevitable hands of time completely we can, with the help of a new breed of skincare supplements help support our skin’s health, and over the last month I’ve been trialling one of the latest from LQ Liquid Health.
LQ Liquid Health Supplements Advanced Skincare (RRP £29.99, 10 X 50ml)* is a liquid food supplement containing 5000mg Marine Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Glucosamine, Selenium, Zinc and vitamins B, C and E. Taken daily these ingredients work from the inside out to support healthy skin; protecting from oxidative stress and contributing to normal cell turnover. Whether your concern is fine lines, acne or hormonal breakouts LQ Liquid Health will help to calm, protect, reduce and alleviate.
This month’s YOU Beauty Box explores The Best of British beauty with a fantastic line-up of products, all of which herald from Britain, and alongside some iconic brands are some exciting new discoveries from lesser known names in the beauty business. So without further ado let’s delve into the March You Beauty Box and take a look at my picks!
Winter can really take its toll on the skin with harsh winds and drying central heating systems all contributing to dehydration and tightness, and even oily skins can feel taut and uncomfortable. Finding a product that can provide relief from the elements whilst infusing the skin with moisture is essential and on the blog today I have the ideal product to beat the British weather and leave your skin glowing with health.
Created by brand new beauty company The Hero Project Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost (30ml, RRP £19) is a non-greasy gel featuring multi-molecular hyaluronic acid and panthenol, AKA Vitamin B5. Hyaluronic acid is a magical skincare ingredient known for its ability to retain moisture and this makes it hugely desirable in skincare because a major cause of aging skin is loss of moisture, which leads to sagginess and wrinkles.
