I often say there is more to skincare than simply which lotions you slap onto your face. You can spend hundreds of pounds on the latest creams but if you neglect to eat a balanced diet or drink enough water that bright, youthful complexion isn’t going to happen. Not to mention the fact that even with the healthiest of diets as we age the body’s production of Collagen slows down, leading to the telltale signs of aging. Whilst you can’t stop the inevitable hands of time completely we can, with the help of a new breed of skincare supplements help support our skin’s health, and over the last month I’ve been trialling one of the latest from LQ Liquid Health.
LQ Liquid Health Supplements Advanced Skincare (RRP £29.99, 10 X 50ml)* is a liquid food supplement containing 5000mg Marine Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Glucosamine, Selenium, Zinc and vitamins B, C and E. Taken daily these ingredients work from the inside out to support healthy skin; protecting from oxidative stress and contributing to normal cell turnover. Whether your concern is fine lines, acne or hormonal breakouts LQ Liquid Health will help to calm, protect, reduce and alleviate.
My skincare bugbears are dullness, hormonal breakouts and in my mid thirties, dare I admit; sagginess. My skin just doesn’t spring back like it did in my twenties, which is particularly noticeable when I wake up with creases where my face has pressed against the pillow. Ugh! I was hoping that LQ Liquid Health would help brighten my complexion and reduce my spots and I wasn’t disappointed; after my month’s course of LQ Liquid Health however my skin looked plumper and the dull circles around my eyes were less pronounced. Whilst my skin still broke out just before my period the spots weren’t quite as angry and seemed to clear up much quicker.
The 50ml drink is sweetened with sweeteners and flavoured with natural orange. The taste is quite sharp but palatable and much nicer than other liquid Collagen supplements I’ve tried in the past; after a few days I became accustomed to the flavour which reminded me of the strong orange cordial that used to be served at children’s parties.
It is recommended you take LQ Liquid Health daily for at least 1 month and for 2-3 months for best results. From then on you can continue every day or reduce to taking 3-4 bottles per week to maintain your healthier complexion. This means the routine is quite expensive, and despite the skincare benefits the price will unfortunately be a deal breaker for some, however if you have the money to invest in serious skincare then I would definitely recommend adding these supplements into your regime.
LQ Liquid Health Supplements Advanced Skincare can be found in Boots and Holland & Barrett stores nationwide, as well as direct on the LQ Liquid Health website where you can buy 3 boxes for £67.47 and save 25% or 9 boxes for £180.81 saving you 33%.
Have you tried a skincare supplement before? If so I’d love to hear if you had any success!
