Birchbox – April 2016 Review

image

April heralds the beginning of Spring, with longer days, warmer weather and an abundance of flowers. Quite fitting then that this month’s Birchbox theme is Blooming Marvellous and the box features a beautiful floral design from US stationery and lifestyle brand Rifle Paper Co.

Inside as usual is a selection of handpicked beauty samples, including one from the very popular Benefit Cosmetics. Read on for a glimpse inside my box.

First up is a brand new launch from Benefit Cosmetics which I’m hugely excited to try. Dew The Hoola (full size RRP £22.50) is a liquid bronzer that is perfect for adding a natural, shimmer-free glow to pale complexions. This is a 5ml sample but as only a small amount is needed it should last for a few uses.

Each subscriber will receive two makeup samples this month and my second is a black eyeliner pencil from Cynthia Rowley Beauty (full size RRP £11). Black eyeliner is a staple for me and this one has a lovely creamy texture that glides on effortlessly.

My next item is from one of my favourite natural beauty brands, Balance Me. The Tinted Wonder Eye Cream (full size RRP £20) is a great multi-tasker, hydrating, firming and concealing.

The fourth product is a 40ml travel size of Kueshi Foot Care Cream (full size RRP £12). This superbly nourishing cream features sweet almond oil and royal jelly to soften and soothe the skin and Tea Tree Oil which fights bacteria and refreshes tired feet. With summer fast approaching this is the ideal product to prep feet for strappy sandals.

The final item in my Birchbox is a 30ml sample of Detangling Leave-in Conditioner from Parlor by Jeff Chastain (full size RRP £17). This is great for smoothing and detangling unruly hair, whether curly or straight, thick or thin.

An additional treat for subscribers is the 25% discount code for the Rifle Paper Co website.

This is a beautiful box featuring a great selection of products to welcome the warmer months in style. I’m really looking forward to giving everything a really good road test! I’d love to hear what you received in your box this month, so please do leave a comment below!

If you are tempted by this line-up you can sign up to Birchbox for £12.95 per month and if you use my referral link you also get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you, plus with a 20% saving on your first box when you use promo code BIGSMILES there really is no better time to sign up!

I’m really interested to see how you get on with the Balance Me eye cream. I’ve recently been trying a different one of theirs which I love! But the concealing powers of this sound even better xx

I noticed the theme was the same as the US box! I wonder with all the changes they’re making if they’re trying to streamline operations and bring everyone in line.
