The April edition of the So Susan LipLove Bag has arrived. With the theme ‘I Love Spring’ this month’s bag is all about new beginnings, shedding our Winter coats and emerging revived and rejuvenated, and the canvas bag features a lovely quote from Harriet Ann Jacobs;
“The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.”
Let’s take a look inside to see what this month’s offerings are!
First out of the bag is the Muse Palette by So Susan (RRP £14.95), a very pretty eyeshadow palette featuring a trio of very wearable shades. The packaging of this feels a little lightweight and ‘cheap’ but I like the fact it has a mirror in the lid and the eyeshadow boasts 8 hour wear.
The second product is the Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait in ‘Exotic Fruits’ (RRP£12.95). The lipstick has a really nice creamy feel but sadly the pale nude colour looks appalling on me, and I’m not sure there are many people would be able to carry off this shade. We had a very similar colour lipstick in a previous LipLove bag so I’m less than impressed to receive another.
The next product inside the bag is the Malibu Melt by Jelly Pong Pong (RRP £19.95), which is a stick blusher. I love these types of blushers as they’re so easy to apply and blend and this is a lovely warm terracotta colour.
The final item I noted should have been the Illuminata by So Susan (RRP £14.95) however I got Powder Primer, which is a product I have already had in a recent LipLove bag. I’m quite disappointed to get a duplicate product and along with the awful colour of lipstick this is another reason why April’s bag is a miss.
I’ve been subscribed to the So Susan LipLove bag since it’s debut but recently I’ve been toying with cancelling. The makeup is lovely, the bags are pretty, but there are only so many blushers and highlighters a person can use. It means that April’s bag was definitely make or break for me and sadly with two of the four products being duds I’ve decided to cancel my LipLove subscription.
The LipLove subscription costs £14.95 per month including postage and is available via the So Susan website.
