March and April 2016 Empties

Until this last week which saw rain, hail and even snow hit the UK we were really gearing up for the warmer months in April and my latest batch of empties reflects this with a whole heap of body care and skincare products.

I know for some people cleansing wipes are a big no no but these Burts Bees Cleansing Towelettes are really gentle and when I arrive late home from my band practice I’d sooner reach for a cleansing wipe than fall asleep in my makeup. Along with Yes To… these are the only wipes I entrust my skin to.

When I go out I always go heavy on the eye makeup so I like to use a separate eye makeup remover to really help remove stubborn mascara. The Rinse Off Makeup Solvent from Clinique was good but I prefer their Take The Day Off Remover, which feels gentler and more nourishing, so this won’t be a repurchase.

Hormones and a few weekends away played havoc with my skin during March so I made sure I incorporated the Buddha Beauty Facial Oil and InstaNatural Skin Clearing Serum into my skincare regime, both of which are perfect for congested and blemish prone skin. Along with the help of Shara Shara Gold Label Repescargo Cream and Dominae Eye Cream my skin definitely improved. Other skincare I sampled this month was the VitaBella Anti Ageing Face Cream which was sadly a miss, the Elemental Herbology Cell Food Serum which I love and have the full size of (review here) and the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation that true to its name really looked lovely on.

One product I was pretty unimpressed with was The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask. I had high hopes that this mask would be a dupe for my favourite Clinique thermal mask that was discontinued some years ago but sadly it wasn’t to be. The texture was so viscous it was difficult to get out of the tube and it really took some rinsing off too. My skin didn’t feel deeply cleansed afterwards either, if anything it felt like there was a residue left behind.

I’ve been busy prepping and preening myself for the warmer weather so next up is a whole heap of body care that I’ll try to whizz through as quickly as possible!

I work out at the gym every weekday so sore muscles are commonplace. When I’m particularly achy a bath with Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak soon sorts it out and I’d definitely recommend it. I’ve also been on a mission to improve the look of my C Section scar and tighten up my thighs so the Solution For Scars, InstaNatural Scar Gel, Bliss Fat Girl Slim and Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil all got slathered on religiously. I loved the Weleda oil in particular so I may purchase the full size.

Lots of other natural goodies were used up too in March and April including Burts Bees Bath & Body Oil, Burts Bees Hand Wash, Balance Me Revitalising Hand & Body Wash, Dead Sea Spa Magik Bath Salts, Sweet Cecilys Rose Body Butter, TanOrganic Tanning Oil, Pommade Divine and AA Skincare Deodorant, most of which I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase.

Finally I finished two of my LUSH shower gels – Snow Fairy and Hot Toddy. Probably going against the majority of LUSH fans I have to say I prefer the warm spiciness of Hot Toddy over the sweet, cloying scent of Snow Fairy.

My final empties are a random assortment including the Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume, Wella Shockwaves hairspray, Cutex Moisture Guard nail polish remover and Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence. I don’t tend to be loyal to any particular hairspray, perfume or nail polish remover, but the Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence is a product I come back to regularly as it leaves my hair feeling super soft and sleek!

As you can see that’s one heck of a pile of empties, in fact they were spilling out of my bathroom bin so I may have to go back to posting monthly! Are any of your favourites products featured amongst my use-ups?
