Birchbox – August 2016 Review

The August Birchbox has arrived with a difference… Instead of the beauty products being tucked inside a box they have treated us to a lovely neoprene makeup bag, that will be a handy addition to your summer travels.

Birchbox is a beauty subscription service that delivers a different selection of beauty samples and treats direct to your door each and every month. Costing £12.99 it’s a great way to try out the latest beauty products and discover new brands.

So what goodies were tucked inside my Birchbag this month?

First up is a full size product that, whilst not being particularly glamorous, will be really handy if you’re a frequent traveller or enjoy the outdoors. Merci Handy Antibacterial Hand Cleansing Gel (30ml, RRP £2.90) is a great product to carry around in your handbag, whether you’re travelling, camping or have children or pets. It has a lovely scent too, not the strong odour of alcohol that some sanitizers have.

Next up is a 50ml travel sized Voya Silky By Nature Shampoo (full size RRP £18). This all natural shampoo features purifying seaweed, along with vitamin B5, to leave hair clean, shiny and full of health. It has a lovely fresh scent.

The third product is a 50ml sample of Anatomicals Smoother Butts Love Coconuts Body Lotion (full size RRP £3.99), a delightfully scented body lotion featuring coconut and mango, which takes you away to tropical island paradise.

Moving on we have a product all subscribers will receive. The Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner (full size RRP £10.50) has a soft, creamy formula that is fully blendable yet has remarkable staying power and will survive even a dip in the pool! I opted for Mulberry, a beautiful metallic plum shade, but you could also choose Expresso, a deep brown colour.

My fifth item is a 15ml sample of Balance Me Radiance Face Mask (full size RRP £18), which utilities fruit acids and walnut shell to gently exfoliate and brighten, while kaolin draws out impurities and excess oil, leaving skin glowing.

Finally as a little extra is a single Yes To Coconuts Cleansing Wipe (full size RRP £3.99). I already love the Yes To Cucumber wipes so I’m looking forward to trying this version.

I love the fact the goodies are all tucked into a neat little makeup bag, that will be perfect for the gym or poolside!

If you are tempted to treat yourself to a Birchbox subscription you can use my referral link you also get 50 points (worth £5) to spend in the Birchbox shop as a thank you!
